Did 90's actresses lie about their age?

Do you really believe Raveena Tandon was just 19 when she did that tip tip barsa song? I dont believe that she had an amazing body for a 19 year old and also actresses like Rani Mukherjee still are in early 40s even though they have been in movies for last 25 years

Raveena Tandon claims to have been born 25 October 1974. That would mean, when she debuted in Patthar Ke Phool (22 February 1991) she had just turned 16. And it would also mean that when she signed the movie and began shooting, she was just 15.

Maybe she was 15(???) BUT... I noticed in MANY of her interviews, she talks about doing modelling before entering films. She also talks about going to college with Ajay Devgan (born in 1969).

So it doesn't make sense.

How could she have gone to college and had a modelling career all before the age of 15 when she signed PKP? She also has stated many times that she refused countless film offers before she signed her debut film.

Most likely she was born in 1969. She went to college for 1 year with Ajay Devgan. She done some modelling and then when she entered films in 1991, she cut a 5 years off her age because all her contemporaries were born in 1974.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but I have doubts. This whole business of shaving off several years of one's age may have worked in the older times, with the likes of Marlena Dietrich and general lack of access to information, but in the 1990's or, even more so, nowadays? Surely journalists would have done some fact-checking already, talked to people who knew Raveena from school(s)? I guess I just can't believe it's possible to age-cheat these days.
