But it's not like its some story & character driven franchise, the second part could have had a different female lead and still be a blockbuster. Salman doesn't need to rely on Katrina but she hasn't given a clean hit without him since 2013 (and that was a small role). That's the important part here and he deserves credit for this (not even a fan of most of his movies btw).

Also regarding Aditya and YRF..after Katrina rejected Gunday they weren't on good terms at all for quite some time so again they wouldn't have cared

It's not about Sallu relying on Katrina, I never said that, it's that why should sallu be praised for not acting like asshole and removing Katrina from a franchise where she was an integral part. And lets not forget , the sequel was the same story carry forward, and not something entirely different like Golmaals or Housefuls.

Did Salman produced a whole movie, just so that Katrina didn't fall in obscurity? Did Salman called Ali and YRF to make TZH , so Katrina can get a hit again? No he didn't anything like that. I mean if we have praise an actor because he didn't removed an actress from their movies, than it is a really sad state.

Sad state or not, it has happened before. He could have easily dumped Katrina after so many of her movies flopped. And either way the movie was a success because of his star power..not because of Katrina (she can't carry a movie on her own), so I feel like he does deserve credit for reviving Katrina's career no matter how you look at it.

Again, it is not about how movie would have done without Katrina, it is about giving a misplaced credit to Salman for Katrina's casting in TZH. While TOH and Zero flopped badly, but Katrina was casted in both movies before TZH became a blockbuster, and both were big ticket movies with huge stars. So how did an actress whose career was supposedly needed Salman to revive it, getting big movies with biggest stars in the country , with big production houses.

Wait that doesn't help your argument..her role in TOH was like a cameo at best (only there for dancing) and in Zero she just got a side plot and wasn't the main female lead either..how is that not a sign of a declining career?

Now she is in Rohit Shetty's next as the female lead, doubt that would have happened if she didn't at least have some successful movie in the past few years. And both of those were with Salman

Katrina has never been the so called content actress, so she will obviously be getting roles which goes with her being a flowerpot character mostly. She was doing the likes of TMK, D3, ETT, APKJK , Welcome and so on, even when she was super popular, so why would she suddenly be getting women oriented roles. Not that TZH success has given her strong roles.

See the point is, while TZH is a huge hit because of Sallu and Christmas/NY holiday, but to praise Sallu for Katrina's casting is not something I agree with. Despite all the Sallu Bhai Maahan Hai saving and lobbying Katrina wala chutiya articles, Katrina hasn't got a single movie which has Sallu pulling strings, not even a single one. So why should I believe this Sallu Bhai mahaan wala argument.

Definitely a big achievement. She is still so hot and sexy.

She was still the female lead in those movies you are mentioning..especially in movies like ETT and APKJK she was basically as important as the male lead. Comparing that with her role in Thugs (not more than a cameo) and Zero (secondary plot) seems strange imho. This isn't about her not being a "content actress" but about the importance of her characters.

Well clearly we won't agree. I think Salman's importance at her career's start (he got her a second debut and likely some other movies in the beginning as well) and then again when it was falling apart is clear
