Sonakshi is not that bad!

Watched Kalank and have to say...Sonakshi was the best part about the movie(along with Varun- but then I am biased towards him). But Sonakshi really impressed me with her acting. She emoted well, even in unrealistic scenes and melodramatic ones - didn't go overboard. She looked beautiful, too.

Even in Mission Mangal, she was one of the striking elements. She outperformed Taapsee and Kirti. She infuses a lot of energy into her roles, and that comes across really well. Have to give her the benefit of doubt for films like Khandaani Shafakhana which would have tanked even if Deepika starred in it-so no point blaming her only!

I feel this forum is rather harsh towards er. She is far better than Shraddha and Sonam. She can be compared to Parineeti, who have bad script choices to blame rather than lack of acting skills. Am rooting for her now, though!

I agree.i don't think sonakshi is that bad.

She isn't bad. She is a very good actress. People just feel the need to bad mouth and troll actors who are not raking in money at the box office.

But she does have stardom, I would rank her 5th or 6th out of the present actresses. She does well in flowerpot roles also, and people appreciate her in those. It is only bad script choices which has led her to being rejected overall. Even Noor was a terrible choice for a female-oriented role.

Sonakshi is gone case, she wanted to do everything and couldn't do anything.

Sonakshi has the WORST script sense. I wish she had a career consultant like a KJo for Alia. She is talented. She can dance. And she is beautiful. Even when I watched terrible films like Tevar or R RajKumar, her acting was still good regardless of the script. I remember her saying that she is against doing intimate scenes, sex scenes, or kissing scene. She did have a brief kissing scene in Lootera but so far, I think she steered clear of such films for the most part. I think she has been stereotyped so she is only offered a certain type of film.

And there are very few actresses who are good even in bad movies. She does have that feature. I think that's a tremendous quality in her. I wish her better luck with scripts, though. Maybe another Lootera would change equations for her.

She gets too much hate for sure. Her mature style is refreshing compared to the childish crap of these younger actresses.

She is a popular actress. But she is not the "it" actress right now majorly b/c of her success rate in a variety of films. The problem with her is that most of her successful films are the masala types with big stars. so people find her to be a limited actress, and dont rate her high. She is good in films that have not connected with the audience, so I know she can act. But the fact that these films have not done well has hurt her bank-ability as an actress.

She could get a good opportunity as the main lead and if the film does well, she could bounce back though. I dont think anything is impossible. But if she keeps doing these masala type films, they overshadow any efforts she makes in trying to break an image she has.

and to add, she is definitely one of the prettiest actresses in this generation imo. She is classically beautiful. She would do amazing in a SLB film.

In the interest of Bollywood I must confess that her item number in Total Dhamaal was very pleasing on the big screen, even though it was very saaf suthraa U/A type.

The only movie I've liked her acting though is Lootera.
