in terms of respect, well let's be honest, arrogant SRK isn't exactly a public darling. His rabid fanbase asides, neutral and general public aren't really that much into SRK. He isn't a Amitabh Bachchan, Dilip Kumar or Rajesh Khanna. While Akki has a different kind of respect because of his fitness, being a social cause talker and also a big charity.

While SRK will obviously go down as King of 90s and 00s, but to discredit Akki's achievements and current standing is pure arrogance.

If SRK has Dharma and YRF then Akshay uses patriotism and political links. Let's be honest here.

SRK is indeed a bigger star and living legend. He has a fanbase worldwide and is synomous of Bollywood even for those who only know Aishwarya in Bwood.

Agree to disagree. First of all, Rajesh Khanna himself is not in the Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan league and nobody really thinks that. SRK will go down with the other two guaranteed. Some bhakts spreading nonsense doesn't take away the respect. Put both Akshay and SRK in the same public function and you will see the results. It's not even debatable.

Akshay's respect? We will see in 3-4 years but the chances are higher to go down the Manoj Kumar path. Movies like Toilet have absolutely zilch shelf life and the rest of his "respect" is hugely based on the current political era and his big public show he makes of money donations which again is something nobody cares about in the long run.

Just the fact that Akshay fans (err) get so excited by topics like this says enough.

So convenient😆. SRK is on a downward spiral BO wise so lets rather talk about the importance of being respected here.

So Akshay is not? Give some credit. He is the only BW star to feature in the Forbes list this year or that doesn't count? Other than rivals fans on social media, nobody is bothered about his nationalism schtik. All regular movie goers eagerly lap it up and Mission Mangal is the ultimate proof.

And who gives a damn about SRK now?😆. He even failed it his most skilled genre recently. He will always a remain superstar, no doubt about it but, so is Akshay and atm, Akshay is miles ahead of him so that makes him superior. Period.

The problem with few SRK fans is that they are not able to detach themselves from his bygones superstardom era.

Everyone gives a damn. That's why every young actor keeps planting articles calling himself the next SRK, old actors' fans desperately post every other day how they're beating SRK, other fans go into a jealous snit every time SRK gets some recognition that their favorites don't get, etc.

In the 90s, there used to be hilarious articles (some of them were still online until recently) about how Govinda and Nana Patekar were bigger stars than SRK. If you look, you will even find ones saying Chandrachur Singh will overtake SRK. It was always a joke.

Akshay Kumar is ahead of SRK as of now box office wise...completely agree. SRK seems to have lost the plot off late. But to discredit SRK’s 25+ years in the industry is a joke.

Hamming or not, SRK is a global icon and there is something to him that attracts people to him. He is a one-man empire. No one can take away the fact that a nobody without any connections, no money in his pocket, no family and a wife (which was a catastrophe for male actors in those days) became The Shah Rukh Khan. The international organizations and colleges award him because he deserves it. Just because he doesn’t publicise his charity work doesn’t mean he doesn’t do it. The organizations that award him are legit and I don’t think they can be bought over.

Another thing that SRK has over all the other actors is his ability to speak on any given public platform. Even when his career is done and dusted, his gift of the gab is not going to go away. His offscreen personality also has a lot to do with his popularity. While most of his contemporaries and juniors have the personality of a wet rag, his personality shines bright.

Anyone who is not clouded with dislike for SRK can see that.
