I have never seen a guy who is violent, bully, beats up everyone in his sight, womanizer but also a brilliant student, football player and a surgeon. Have you ever seen someone like that in your life?

I have seen a doctor who used to beat up his wife if that helps. Don’t know his history in med school but he was regarded highly in his work place. But is a monster roaming freely.

I have seen a few people with extreme anger issues in personal life but ofcourse the depiction in the film was a bit unrealistic or rather lacked proper direction, IMO.

Infact, this was one of the things that distracted my mom and me while we were watching the film. It reminded us of a junior doctor that treated me. He's so similar to Kabir (minus the self-destructive side, as far as I know atleast) - perfect doctor, an achiever, never saw him get into major fights, although yes, he was a terror to the staff, sometimes even visitors... He yelled his top off and was extremely sarcastic, gave threatening looks when he couldn't shout, he is almost exactly the same in the body language, cares a lot about his patients, makes patients feel safe, the way he softly gently talks to patients or more so the girl he likes and God forbid if the staff (nurses) or anyone besides the patients erred or even got a whiff of inefficiency or of their bullshit. And it seems once they didn't fit his sense of what is "the right way", he'd be tough on them. Some of them bitched behind his back, ofcourse, they'd try to scare me often about his temper.. 😢 😭 .. anyway, won't go any further into this, I digressed.

Coming back to film, not all spectators in real life would really whimper and stay away or obey and remain mere spectator.. atleast not as much as it was depicted in the film. (The way they hide when they see him approaching like a raging bulldozer) . In professional setting, it may make sense where he is respected for his efficiency, perfection, sincerity, or some may see it as integrity where your work far out-weighs your temper. In a college setting, where a sizeable proportion of men/women that age always have their blood on a low sim ready to boil.. I doubt it.. people will rebel unless you have power (not of money, but have a background of local history-sheeter).. However, I didn't think it was possible today anyway (the way Kabir can scare everyone away). But I get it all, it was either the weak direction/script or just used to emphasise or dramatize Kabir's anger for cinematic purpose or something like that.

Anger and it's consequences is more realistically depicted in the Malayalam film called, "Kali", which I watched last night. A beautiful film :)

Coming to the combination of brilliant career-wise as well as womanizing/fighting etc... my dad studied at a uni which was filled with achievers. The university did have terrors like Kabir, but they had muscle-power like - associated with actual rowdies and were like a gang, didn't go solo like Kabir. Not sure if they were dramatic like in the film, from what dad said they seemed rather peaceful and showed off or 'used' their power in getting extra meals, extra hours at gym. The entrance used to be difficult, and they couldn't have got in without passing.. atleast to our knowledge.. 😐

EDIT - In my post above and in this one what I mean to say is, it's not about the character being realistic, but rather the reaction he gets from his surroundings. You can be anything you want in this world, but it is the world around you that either restricts you or is yielding to you. I think the reaction of world around Kabir felt a little unrealistic, or rather exaggerated to give a dramatic effect to his anger or influence for cinematic purpose, especially in those college scenes.

Almost every engineering college in India has senior dadas like these. Colleges where political student unions exist usually have tons of Kabir Singhs.

He's a highly functional sociopath. So yes, but in low numbers.
