Whatever be the reason Salman is no one to make announcements for an Akshay film. This happened because Akshay didn't put his foot down. He doesn't care when his film releases now that he got his paycheck.

I think it's pretty clear he didn't agree with pre-poning it. But how does that equate to him only caring about his paycheck? Just because he doesn't go all out showing off his stardom.. by denying it publicly or whatever like the others. The movie is not produced by him, so he is not the only one who gets to decide. They're all big names.
