Here is a curious case of something that read beautifully on paper but the when the end product made its way to a preview theatre all were gobsmacked. This studio green lit this quirky middle India film last year with a lot of gungho. The filmmaker had a knack for telling stories from the heartland and wanted to take a break from his serious style of storytelling and wanted to dabble in something light and frothy but with the desi touch. He got a stellar ensemble cast for the same as well and everything looked like it was going just as plan. The makers were confident as well as they thought this movie had the potential to one the biggest sleeper hits of the year whenever it came out. But as they say all that glows ain’t gold. Soon when the maker returned from the shoot and handed in the final edit of the film the studio was in for a rude shock. They didn’t know how to salvage this movie. They’ve showed the film to a many a marketing wiz-kids trying to figure what could be a great peg for the movie to revolve on but nothing seems to be working. Last we checked the studio is seriously contemplating not the release the movie and subside their losses. And on the other hand, the filmmaker has now moved on to his next and doesn’t want anything to do with the film either. Sad, but then such is the life dearies.

No clue which movie.

But it must be one that's been filmed already.. with 'stellar cast' 😆.. yet so bad that the producers think of shelving it rather than risk it to be a massive flop at BO,

Sandeep aur Pinky Faraar? But Arjun and Parineeti are hardly a stellar cast.

Is it Drive? Are we calling Sushant and Jacky a stellar cast?

This actually looks like it was written last year for Kalank.

Drive has been filmed ages ago though, no? They were thinking to release it LAST year...

Was Kalank announced just last year?

I thought it might be Brahmasta cause of 'stellar cast' and 'frothy' thing.. but it doesn't fit cause the director hasn't moved on.

What is the guy that filmed Andhadun doing? Or the guy that did Queen and Zero- Anand L Rai?

Has to be a director that filmed last year and this year is onto another project(says the director has moved on)- a director known for 'serious movies' .

Queen director was caught in Me Too and was making Super 30.

Anand is still getting over Zero I think. He is supposedly planning to make Tanu weds Manu 3.

Motwane hasn't announced anything after Bhavesh Joshi and Manmarziya, Anil Kapoor ka beta uska career kha gaya.

But 'Sandeep aur Pinky Faraar' stars Arjun and Parineeti. Its anything but a stellar cast.

I mean if it is Drive.. then what stellar cast? cause SSR isn't any higher then Arjun and Parineeti right now.. no?

Absolutely! If SSR and Jacky are stellar then

Super 30 isn't a light-frothy film.

I thought 'Mental' was being promoted as an intelligent film, after the whole controversy over the title. Is it a comedy?

It could have been Hindi Medium, the stellar part being for Irfan Khan. But they are yet to start shooting for the film.
