Two of the most-awaited Bollywood films of 2019 are probably Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s superhero flick Brahmastra and Salman Khan’s upcoming cop drama, Dabangg 3. Ever since it was announced that Dabangg 3 will be released in December, rumours began doing rounds that the film will clash at the box-office with Brahmastra, which is already expected to release on the Christmas weekend. However, a report in a leading daily claims that the film may still be in the process of re-shoots and post-production. Brahmastra is a movie that is extremely heavy on visual affects which probably explains the delay in the post production. The report also reveals that there is a possibility of the film being pushed to the first half of 2019. A source close to the film stated, “There is a more practical reason. If Brahmastra doesn’t release in December 2019, it will be mainly because its shooting is likely to go on till October. After this, the sci-fi thriller will get into post-production, which may take longer because the film is heavily dependent on VFX. In the past, every movie with heavy-duty visual effects, has had to keep a buffer period due to the nature of the work involved.”Other than Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, Brahmastra also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy. Meanwhile, Salman Khan is currently busy shooting for Dabangg 3. The franchise will continue with it’s lead pair of Salman and Sonakshi Sinha.

.@red: What an excuse! buffer period- the knew about the 'buffer period' when they were shooting and announced release just a month ago or so, right? They have said the last schedule was now. What 'shooting until October'? Who are they trying to fool? They are simply running scared.

Also: wasn't there a blind about it , that producers saw the rushes and were unhappy?Maybe all this is just that. After Kalank flopping- They KNOW public is against KJo who produces Brahmastra..and won;t buy any messy/shoddy stuff -and now they are trying to patch it an make it look better.

Himesh said it's not delayed though. Maybe it's Bhai who is scared. They also leaked out that SRK is doing a cameo.

@HimeshMankad: A lot of people asking about #Dabangg3 release date; The film shoot is going on in full swing, however there is a lot of VFX in the prequel portions and the makers will announce the date once they 100% sure on finishing date of the film. December 27 is what they are targetting!

@HimeshMankad: #Brahmastra on the other hand is ON TRACK to be a #Christmas2019 release and the expected date of arrival is December 20. The shooting is going on as planned, and a minor chunk pending will be finished soon. A team dedicated towards post production working simultaneously.

Everything depends on SOTY 2.If that fails along with Kalank,trade will be very nervous about Brahmastra.
