Is this the awards organization Anupama Chopra was talking about starting the year half the awards were announced before Dangal even released? She said she was working on something more credible and without the influence of big studios. I'm not sure she accomplished that?

We'll see how far they go... but yes, this is the critics coalition. Most of them are the ones IF heard off... Rajeev, Anu, Raja, Shubra, Bharathi, Brahmatma plus many more.

I was looking for pan-india nominations... since they were positioning as such, but this list is all Hindi movies. They do have best regional film nominees (language wise).

Wish they all competed under the same roof... a la National Awards.

Curious to see how their selection defers from other awards. 😆

Glad to see Tumbadd receive these many nominations. It was miles ahead of andhadun in every department including screenplay but has been shoved to the side.
Best mainstream film of the year IMO.

^ Maybe I'm used to how Hollywood does things but when I'm thinking critically acclaimed it also includes small low budget movies that didn't necessarily make money. Sometimes you don't even recognize the artists since they are not big stars. There is a joke about Oscars' best pictures nominees and how most people haven't even heard of those movies. A good chunk of them don't even get a wide release.

I mean, surely there was one or two Hindi movies with lesser known cast and crew that had a stronger content and quality than a Raazi or Padmavat in 2018. This is supposed to be the CRITICS' awards after all.

Bravo! What a fine nominations list.
The most credible one I've seen so far. Taapsee in Manmarziyan, Anushka in Pari and no Deepika from Padmavat instantly makes this a good list. The number of award shows which missed Pari made me mad. Anushka was brilliant in that movie and Taapsee was just mesmerizing. Tabu should win though.
Laila Majnu got the music nomination which it deserved!

From the actors I want Vineet to win. Crisp,Hard hitting performance!

The number of noms for Tummbad! Yay!

But the best part about the list is no RAJU HIRANI for best director. Good work!
