Maybe if y'all supported, say, Sonakshi or Adi at the box office, they would have their own full-fledged films but don't go into the film expecting this to be their film, or you will be disappointed!

Right from the first rumours to the first poster after Sridevi's death to the final posters before the song releases, Kalank was promoted as a multi-starer from the begining. Before her passing away, the film was promoted as Sanjay Dutt and Sridevi coming together after Gumraah along with Alia-Varun couple comeback and after Madhuri stepping in, it was promoted as Sanjay-Madhuri coming together after a big gap along with the past history they share which made news.

Nowhere did the makers ever claim before any material had released that the film is predominantly a Alia-Varun film. It was only fanclubs which used to post the inside deets about the film every now and then.

The official posters and everything that was shared by the production house projected Kalank to be a 'MULTI-STARER' and not a film with two leads and supporting actors. There's a difference between the two. So honestly people are not wrong in expecting same exposure for all the actors in the film. It's the fault of the makers if they promoted the film as something else than what it is. People don't have to be fans of Sonakshi/Adi/Madhuri/Sanjay to ask equal footage of them. It's a period film. A first for Sanjay-Adi-Sonakshi so people might surely like them in this film despite not being fans of the said actors.

I'm not even a fan of Sonakshi yet can pretty much see why is she being sidelined in this song like Madhuri was in the first one. Everything is being done to make Alia stand out. Look at Alia's posture and grace and look at Sonakshi's. I mean the comparison is right there. Sonakshi doesn't need fake lens to look beautiful. The beauty and grace is right there, even when she does the slow mo dance and that small exhange with Adi.Same with Madhuri in the first song who could've easily eaten Alia alive (and yes even in this age), she was smartly sidelined even though the song was heavily promoted as a DANCE JUGALBANDI between Madhuri and Alia.

When you have two actresses who are better suited for a period drama like this, Papa will obviously sideline them so that Alia shines despite her mediocrity in looks,grace and charm and not stick out like a sore thumb since this is going to be her showreel for Bhansalisque films.
