Alia was became really popular post 2 States and her and Varun/Sid had already worked in SOTY, so there pairing will always get more hype. So isn't Alia equally creditable for the opening??
Kriti on the on the other hand, had a minor success, respected by the media and critics, and loved by a section of audience and online cinephiles.
But it wasn't a hit across the nation, nor it breakthrough in television. This was her movie after a year and half, most of the post BKB momentum gone. While Karthik was coming back after a huge hit, which was a success in both television and silver screen, and he is currently hyped as the national crush and his stories always pop up in media, Sara and Ananya drama.
See there is this difference between HSKD and Luka Chupi. And why in one both the actress and actress get the same credit for the opening, while in another male star is given more. And this is just opening , and this is just a part of discussion, movie as a whole is equally a Karthik and Kriti movie, I am not saying only Karthik is only one who deserves to call Luka Chupi his success, Kriti has an equal claim to call Luka Chupi to call it her hit. And this is where all this misunderstanding is happening, it is not me not crediting Kriti for the success of the movie, that is her no one can take it away. My point was the initial hype and hoopla which lead to the fair opening where Karthik and obviously the music where a much bigger picture part.
Next movie, I will give her more credit for the opening when she does movie with Arjun Kapoor, because she would be coming after a super hit in Luka Chupi, while Arjun well uski baat hi chorro 😆.
The reasons Alia was brought in those conversations when discussing Kriti, was because someone mocked Raazi's opening is less than Luka Chupi, trying to make it like Kriti was fully responsible for Luka Chupi. Now keeping aside your general disagreement and displeasure about Alia's push by Kjo, just tell me simple, was I wrong to point out the obvious flaw of the argument comparing a female centric spy thriller with no popular costar and a commercial rom com. And it is also not like Luka Chupi did much big, it collected just a little less than 50 lakhs more than Raazi despite coming in 250 more screens.
And that is the thing you took as me not crediting Kriti for the success of LC, which was never the case.
