Rajamouli by miles ,he has done war movies like Bahubali ,romantic period drama like Magadheera n hatke movie like Eega .
SLB is overated , except for grandeur n colourful costumes he can't even make a decent movie .

RR. His non grandeur films are better than SLB's. Both are good in showcasing grandeur but RR films have substance and strong female lead. BW will never ever be able to achieve the same level of adulation and hype that Bahubali series enjoyed among the masses.

I am sorry if I offend somebody but I genuinely want to know that besides the grand sets, vfx and costumes what is so special in either of their works. I am not trolling I genuinely want to know because I think their movies do have that entertainment value and are visually appealing but they are not something I would consider as masterpieces.

Making grand movies is not an easy task, hence not everyone is successful in it.
Hence you see how directors used to medium/small budget and small scale cinema suffer when they get big movies.
Not everyone can make big movies.
And masterpiece is just a word, some(most actually) people find Bahubali/Sholay/Mughal-E-Azam a master piece, some find it overrated and don't get the hype. Also SLB movies, I don't find anything special either. And we can see they don't sell beyond a point, hence his movies apart from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, all didn't do well in tv.

The special thing about Bahubali, apart from the grand scale is obviously the core script. It is a classic tale of good vs evil. Just look at it as a mythological adaptation, and it makes lot sense. Unlike movies of SLB, here the story despite being about the hero, there is a great heroine, strong villain and a number of superb supporting characters. Bahubali is an example of successfully adapting the Hindu mythological stories and putting them together in a great way. As impressive as creating as a Queen or a GOW or a Gully Boy in terms of simple script only.

Bhansali's movies can still have a heart. Rajamouli is over rated. That Baahubali shit 😆😆

I agree that it requires vision and lot of hardwork but at the same time there is a large crew working with them.Although director is captain of the ship but why give entire credit of the grand spectacle to them. I think one problem I have with both is the lack of character development, I just fail to feel for the characters in their movies, they are boderline annoying to me(will make an exception of shivgami).

apart from Mahendra Bahubali(mostly because of stripping scene, although it has a justification, but I don't buy it) every character in Bahubali has a consistent graph.
I don't get this character development criticism.

And director gets the credit because he is the main guy, whose call is the final call.
SLB and Raja are type of directors who control almost everything. So they need to be given credit for taking control of such huge movies.
