I haven't seen the movie, but from what I got as reviews from my friends, Uri is kinda like Raazi with toned down nationalism.
Now if saying anything against Pakistan is jingoism, than that is a different thing.

I have not watched it either. Neither did I watch raazi. Jingoism is in the society not the movie. You misread my comment.

Nothing jingoistic about URI.

It's a crisp, tight directed movie about Army strikes.

Pichhvade mein aag lagi padi hai kuch logo ke since it's about strike that happened during Modi govt.

But man what a brilliant, tight, crisp screenplay. Phaadu debut of the director. Background score and war scenes -- Top.

you said it reflects jingoism and war mongering, hence I thought you were commenting on its content.

Kjo must be lamenting for his phooti kismat. The director was supposed to debut with Dharma. Ab dekhte hai kya Kjo Dhar ko apne fav kids ke liye phir se book karta hai?

Dhar moved away or Kjo denied him? I am kinda sure Kjo will try to coax him to come direct for Dharma. For a debut, this was amazingly packaged. Not a false moment.

Intriguing. Any guesses why?

The way the entire euphoria trip turned into a nightmare. How the government lapped it up and celebrated a movie but failed weeks later when it came to actual intelligence. How the general common folk takeaway from the movie has been on the lines of performative nationalism or patriotism and warmongering and its all over social media.

I do understand its not the movie's fault though. It was a good one. But the general state of the country and the timing of it all makes its success bittersweet atleast for me.

Most likely the latter. Or else why would he go to Screwvala if Kjo had greenlit his alternate project? Kjo didnt attend any URI screenings either, did he?

congrats team Uri
I felt best scenes in simmba were copied from temper. Only Ranveer's (and few other people's) acting was worth watching

Congratulations URI! Well deserved, hope it'll join the 300 Cr club :)
Kaushal was perfect as Major Shergill, and Saditya Dhar was no less!
