Pati Patni Aur Woh Remake without any proper intimation. The producers have now released an official statement.
Even before the shooting for the remake of Pati Patni Aur Woh begins, the film has found itself in troubled waters. After Taapsee Pannu claimed that she was dropped from the film without any intimation, even after she cleared her dates to accommodate the film's shoot schedule, the producers of the film have released an official statement on the row.
The producers maintain that Taapsee was one of the many actors they had approached for the protagonist's role adding that they never made any commitment to her. In an elaborate statement, they also shared that while they will soon announce the final cast of the film, the casting has been done purely on the basis of what the characters demanded.
The official statement from Bhushan Kumar and Juno Chopra read as, "When a script is locked, every director or producer approaches actors for the casting of the film, it is a basic protocol followed by almost all filmmakers. Similarly, for our upcoming project Pati Patni Aur Woh, we reached out to many actors, who we thought could be our potential protagonists in the film. We would like to clarify that our casting was purely done on the basis of who suited the characters to the tee. Tapasee is an extremely talented actress and we would love to work with her in future. We will soon make the official announcement for the final cast of Pati Patni Aur Woh. For the uninitiated, prior to the producers' statement, Taapsee, in interaction with Mumbai Mirror, shared that the entire incident has been an eye-opener for her and that she deserves an answer. She detailed that the director, Mudassar Aziz, first narrated the script to her and she assumed that she was the first choice. Taapsee shares that when Mudassar wasn't given a reason, she tried to speak to the producers but they kept "putting the conversation off.
She was quoted as saying, "After moving my dates, I think it would have been better if I was informed about the development instead of finding out about it from others. I deserve an answer. This is disheartening.
