I think in the era of social media, every movie gets hit by rival fandoms! .. So nothing to do with Zero specifically! .. Most big bannered movies face it ... What clicks with audience is still not very clear to me! .. Some good movies don't end up doing well while some shitty movies go to become huge hits ... so really I am just as confused and only focus on myself whether or not "I like it" .. 😆

I don't believe that these (still allegations) are correct in every way but thanks nevertheless (it is at least something I can research).

What I know is that Sawariya was distributed by Sony Pictures and Om Shanti Om by Eros International and that both these companies were at 'logger-heads' at that time (power play). What I know is that ShahRukh spoke to Sanjay about shifting the release date, that Sanjay did insult Farah and she had serious issues with him, that Sony fixed the date after Eros and quasi forbid Sanjay to move it.

I am not quick to point at the film makers or superstars/directors because I think that most often it's a matter between big companies about power and money and personnel issues (like it was at Dilwale times with Eros against RedChillies because SRK quit Eros after issues during the Ra.One promotion and distribution which resulted then in a quasi 'war" between Eros and YRF with JTHJ and SOS).

Aanand L. Rai initially was connected to Eros but quit them to make his movie independent of them with RedChillies.

As for Hirani and working with him, it had something to do with VVC and accusing SRK having bribed the commitee to choose Paheli over his Eklaviya for the Oscars. SRK asked Hirani if he would work with him independent of VVC but Hirani felt too committed to VVC to do so.

I think that fan-wars are minor factors in comparison to what power-plays and personal agendas work behind the open scene.
