Kat shocked me so much... She put all her emotions into her scenes.
Anushka was very very good. I had doubts about her in the trailer but she did such an amazing job in te movie. Honestly I feel like like she could be a strong contender for best actress Award.
Srk has also given his all in his role. He completely emersed himself into the buua character.

But the real problem is the script and screenplay. I felt like alr has tried too jam pack everything into one hour. By the time the interval came I was exhausted.
The actors and the dialogue writer has given their all but ALR failed to deliver.

Wow you watched it already? 😲 Thanks so much for the honest review, it's comforting to know that I'll at least have the performances to look forward to. It's a shame the script ruined it for everyone:(

This is the best SRK performance I have seen in years. The ALR universe is always absurdist - it either works for you or it doesnt. The dialogue is very sharp. Of course, the film requires a suspension of disbelief but I liked it. Liked the first half more! #Zero

Zero Has Good Opening
Friday 21 December 2018 13.30 IST
Box Office India Trade Network

Zero has taken a good opening of 30-35% in its morning shows. The openings numbers are generally good at most places but not huge. Obviously many Shahrukh Khan starrers have taken bigger openings than this film but this is a par opening for this film.

The film is a huge release and easily the biggest ever for Shahrukh Khan not just in terms of screens but the capacity is huge and very close to capacity of Thugs of Hindostan. the only difference is that around 200-300 of the low grossing cinemas in small centers are not there for Zero and these hardly make a difference to the overall number. It is the third biggest release ever after Thugs of Hindostan and Tiger Zinda Hai.

The opening in terms of occupancy is a little less than 2.0 (Hindi) but the release is wider and more importantly the ticket rates are far higher than that film which mean despite occupancy being a little less it should collect higher than that film.

The film had a good trailer though Shahrukh Khan is a midget in the film and this could eventually turn out to be the USP depending on the content of the film but as far as opening is concerned it is a bit of a hindrance. The music of the film is good but generally songs which can look good in the film and no chartbuster types and then on top film has no action.

Initially the only big plus was Shahrukh Khan and its on him that this opening has come and its come despite poor films like Jab Harry Met Sejal, Raees, Dear Zindagi and Fan behind him. The film is a growth film and that will depend on public reports but Saturday may not see huge gains as growth films generally do as its a huge release and maybe the release is actually too big for a non action or mass comedy film. But this is how it goes nowadays with big films going on the most screens possible.

But it will be Sunday which is the crucial day for the film and there it will have to show a big jump in business to really get the best out of the Christmas week.On top the film seems to be catering more for the family audience than the youth and its on Sunday when the family audience really comes out.

Any update on audience reaction? If people will like the movie it can still do well, reviews dont matter then. But one thing is clear that it can't be big success now, I hope it recovers money. Will watch tomorrow or on 25th.

Don't know whether this is real or fake...but if it's real then it's really a petty thing to do...

Where the women steal the centrestage from their hero

- Vijayalakshmi Narayanan

Movie Review : Zero
Cast : Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif, Shah Rukh Khan, Mohd. Zeeshan Aayub, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Sheeba Chaddha, Brijendra Kala
Director : Aanand L Rai
Genre : Drama
Our rating: 3.5/5

Disability does not and should not derail life. And neither does it mean that you can't be flawed. Flawed is actually the common trait that holds our three principle characters together in director Aanand L Rai's latest directorial, Zero'.

Zero' is the story about pursuing dreams and loving beyond limits.

Bauaa Singh (Shah Rukh Khan) is a 38 year-old vertically challenged man from Meerut, who is constantly the butt of jibes amongst his townfolk for his height and is despised by his father Ashok (Tigmanshu Dhulia). Much to the dismay of the woman of the house (Sheeba Chaddha), the banter between father and son involves daddy dearest whipping his uncouth son with his belt while the son addresses him by his first name. Bauaa chances upon a marriage prospect that his frequently-sought marriage bureau friend (Brijendra Kala) has been hiding from him. The prospect in question you ask is Aafia Yusufzai Bhinder (Anushka Sharma), an ambitious scientist for whom cerebral palsy is a petty hindrance than her larger-than-life quest to send humans to Mars. Even as Bauaa is trying to win the affection of the hard-to-please Aafia, his fixation for the reigning queen of hearts Babita Kumari (Katrina Kaif) turns into a strange obsession, which he can go to any lengths to achieve. Thus continues the tale of validation, error and redemption.

Director Rai, who is best credited for his small-town wonders with the Tanu Weds Manu' franchise and Ranjhanaa' captures the TIER 2 milieu just as beautifully as he has always. The first half is particularly entertaining with clap-trap lines being exchanged in between Khan, Dhulia, Kala and the Rai regular Mohd. Zeeshan Aayub. The credit goes to the director's frequent collaborator Himanshu Sharma who strikes beautifully with the might of his pen. Cinematographer Manu Anand and production designer Wasiq Khan stage brilliant visuals that are a terrific delight. Mere Naam Tu' remains in your head for the way its shot and brilliantly composed by Ajay-Atul. The only hiccup is the editing by Hemal Kothari as the curse of the second half lets the interest levels dip marginally.

Yet, the stellar performances of the three primary leads keep you glued towards the end. Major thumbs up to Khan and Rai for letting the ladies shine. Anushka is faultless as Aafia. She doesn't seek your empathy yet you can't help but care and root for her. As for Katrina, the actress plays an extended version of herself with all the familiar tropes. A star recovering from a failed relationship but on the verge of a nervous breakdown. This is the performance that we've been seeking from Kaif. Lastly, for SRK, Zero' is the elixir, his filmography needed. As Bauaa, Khan is unapologetic, acidic with his words and cares two hoots about tomorrow. It's a role of a lifetime and Khan makes a meal of it. He and Aayub share a fantastic camaraderie which was earlier reflective in Raees'. Here's hoping for more films with them.

Just when the audience was beginning to write the Khans off, Zero' is a gentle reminder that with a great director at the helm of affairs, a Khan film will continue drawing its audience. It's a Merry Christmas at the box-office, this weekend.
