I cannot be the only one who notices actresses give some weird half open lip expression on magazine covers or whenever they are trying to be "Sexy"? I don't know, it just looks like they are confused or constipated. 😆

Haina?! And, the "lost" seemingly expressionless look??

Or they throw back their head a little and pose like "look, look at my nostril" .

It's a plead for some CPR to resuscitate and bring some life in the already deadpan expressions.

Reminds me of The recent pic of Deepika for GQ 😆

I really did not understood what expression was that 🤣

It's called a trout pout invoking the spirit of the water totem from whom it gets the name. The idea is to invoke melancholia with the juxtaposition of an aquatic specimen gasping for the kiss of life or so it's believed.
Yes all this from the annual Turner prize committee.

Fish gape... makes the face more attractive, when not smiling.

^^ my bad. It is indeed called fish gape newer moniker for the Japanese sparrow face. All however do invoke rich imagery of urban poor starving themselves while yearning for some carbon.

Fish gape is not new btw, twas very common during the 90s esp in commercials
esp, the "tilting the head ever so slightly while also opening the mouth ever so slightly look " and as a result giving us a glimpse of inside of their nostrils and making our dreary days a little bit more brighter

So if twas shown in Indian TV in the 90s I am assuming it must have originated before that in America

I have seen some Marilyn Monroe pics with that look but in her case it looked natural and sensuous ( am guessing that's the purpose of this pose)

And Sridevi used to do similar pout on magazine covers
