Vikas Bahl has been accused of sexual assault by an ex-employee of Phantom Films. She has accused Vikas of grave misconduct during an event for Bombay Velvet in 2015. The employee has narrated her account anonymously to Huffington Post. Phantom Films has now been dissolved and Vikas Bahl has filed a defamation case against Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane. Anurag had a fallout with Vikas and had said recently that he is not on talking terms with him, before these allegations came to fore. Both the filmmakers have publicly declared their support for the victim and have even called Vikas an offender. The court had called all the parties today for the hearing in the matter.
The survivor did not come but her lawyer stated that she stands by the allegations she made on Vikas, but does not want to be involved in a litigation and hence she did not file a legal affidavit. Vikas Bahl's lawyer reacted to this while interacting with the media. His lawyer, Hitesh Jain told the media, "The matter has been adjourned to October 23. The victim has made a statement that she is not going to file any complaint against Vikas. So you can deduce from that as to what the whole battle was about. It was about fighting for the pride and truth of Vikas.
"Once the victim says that she does not want to file the complaint the automatic impression is that someone was trying to fire from her shoulder. That is the reason we have filed the complaint against those people who were trying to use the victim and fire from her shoulder, he said hinting at Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane.
