I saw 3-4 elderly American couples in theater for Bajirao Mastani. but I thought they were there for Kashibai coz PC was already popular after Quantico by then.

I guess many do like extravaganza BW historicals.

Have you ever shown a white person The Lunchbox? I highly recommend
it. So far everyone I've ever had watch it, after I've convinced them that lunch delivery does truly work that way, has been shocked by the film (no doubt at least in part because their expectation is all Indian films are absolutely positively beyond dreadful) and they are like, "I never knew Indian films were ... and struggle to think of polite way of finishing that sentence. LOL Fun times.

Lol every second Afghan person knows Hindi. I literally learnt the language from being exposed to Bollywood since I was a kid. Here in Aussie-Land the only names people are familiar with is SRK, Aish (lol a lot of people gush on about how beautiful she is) and two popular Hindi movies that is mentioned is 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham'.

I don't know about Bollywood, but Masala Bhangra is the new Zumba. Taken off. My gym is already offering 4 classes a week and its all white people including the instructors. Kinda funny because its nothing like the real thing. 😆

Not popular. Don't buy the BS as they feed people about their grandeur. Except the desi diaspora nobody knows talks or gives a shit about Bollywood.

BW isn't popular out side of the Desi circle.
But Indian things that are very popular are Chai tea latte, yoga and bollywood songs in zumba classes, especially Bhangra.
