well they are not just wives, they are family, they are a support system, for them to be made to feel like they are a distraction must feel terrible, if is was married to a sportsman i wud want to be there to cheer for them

They are allowed to come for 2 weeks of the tour. Virat wants them all of the time.

Who cares as long as the cricketer pays for it himself. BUT I think the BCCI is expected to cover the costs of the wives' holiday which is wrong. The problem ends up being that cricketers and their wives then treat tours as family vacation times rather than a business trip.
I don't know why the wives would want to be there for the whole tour anyways. How boring is it to accompany your husband on a business tour for months on end? He's working -- you have to find things to do. He can't just get up and ditch work to spend all his time with you. Vacation gets boring after a while anyways.

Dhoni missed the birth of his girl putting the team ahead his priorities, he even barely saw his family one time when he busy getting work done, and this lovesick idiot is on his knees for his wife beta let her do the team selection too for everyone while you stand and serve her

Well that rule disallowing wives is just silly.
Disallow kyu karna hai. They want to go and watch their hubbies play. Family should be allowed and even significant others.

Of course they should travel at their own expense and not bcci.

Arey they have hordes of money...they don't want to invest in budding players... oh no...they would rather bankroll cricketer's lifestyle

On a serious note, I don't get what is wrong with Virat...talent cannot make up for such stupid decision. He should be well aware ki ab uska time acha hai, but sports is very unpredictable. No doubt some people will be miffed with these decisions esp when team stops performing.

And so true don't any of these women have better things to do? Why are they just shown as cheerleaders for husbands and their own achievements are on the back burner...sad but I guess that's what they want.

Why because players has to divide their attention between playing and taking care of family who comes with them. For few matches it is ok but think for entire tour. Security, accommodation and everything will be double burden on team and more over players attention will be partially on family.

11 players ( not adding extra staff) and their wives and mothers. Who will take care of booking tickets and security everything?? Players will concentrate on personal things or on play that too for entire tour??

I don't know why I feel the request is ridiculous. Taking family for one or two matches is different from taking them for whole tour is different.. just my POV

One more point i want to add, though players pay for travelling tickets, food and accommodation of family from their pockets (which I highly doubt) but security BCCI has to pay that means tax payers money will be invested. As a tax payers I will throw Chappel on them for wasting so much money on their entertainment 😡
