Confirmed: Aamir Khan to star in Gulshan Kumar biopic after Thugs Of Hindostan

There has been a lot of speculations on what will be Aamir Khan's next after Thugs Of Hindostan. He was believed to start working on his long-drawn Mahabharata series after the release of Yash Raj's next biggie, but that was soon put on the backburner after things weren't happening the way he wanted. Aamir was then keen to play controversial Indian godman Rajneesh Osho onscreen but that project has also apparently been put on hold for now because Aamir was "not happy with his Osho look after several tests.
For the last few weeks, rumours are rife that Aamir would be starring in music maestro Gulshan Kumar's biopic, Mogul. Although this news is everywhere, there has been no confirmation. Now, Peepingmoon.com can exclusively confirm that Aamir's next will be the biopic on Gulshan. Our placed sources have informed us that the actor has greenlighted this much-talked-about biopic after several rewrites the script underwent.

"Aamir and Subhash Kapoor have been having script and discussion sessions in his Khandala bungalow every weekend for four weeks now. Aamir was apparently initially uncomfortable with some of the "overtly spiritual portions in the script. Subhash who has written the script and is also directing the film, rewrote it. Aamir will co-produce the film now with T-Series, the source said.
With Bhushan Kumar, the chairman of T-Series and the son of Gulshan Kumar, himself involved in the project, there has been speculation whether the film will show his father in any type of unflattering light and how much reality they would depict. However, the sources claim that the movie will have every prickly bit of Gulshan's life. "Apparently, everything is there in the script. It's not a whitewashing exercise and neither the screenplay has been tweaked to make it an underdog story as reported by the media. That Gulshan used to do piracy, the Anuradha Paudwal angle it's all in the script. Nadeem Saifi who is accused of killing Gulshan in 1997 with the aid of the underworld is also apparently in the script, the source further added.
Tentatively titled Mogul, the biopic will go on the floors in March next year and will release on Christmas 2019 weekend. A three-month shooting schedule has been planned for which Aamir has already started gaining weight. The official announcement on the same is likely to come out in November.
