I think Karisma is a really good actress. I remember being a small child & watching Fiza in the theatre lolll. Watched much later & she acted so well. Esp in the scene when she takes out of her deceased mother's clothes & shatters & weeps on the floor, my God, SO good! Zubeida & Fiza were her career best, both are the only 2 films where I've found her good-looking. LOL.

I dont think she is some great talent. She was average and was lucky to do some good work with Shahid. Thats about it. Am not surprised that she faded away like Gracy Singh who also could not adapt herself to different roles.

Amrita is notin same category as VB, shes less mature looking, has limited repertoire as an actress.




She knew her shortcomings, she could never dream abt doing a Dirty Picture, with her cute innocent looks it would be ridiculous, nobody would even offer her a role like that But she is a decent actress, she has done a Shyam Benegal movie (Welcome to Sajjanpur)...Benegal would not take her if she was a light weight actress.



Asin did very few films so don't know whenshe became that popular in those 6 yrs she was in BW Just because Asin did 2 movies with Sallu and Aamir doesn't make her a top actress.


I think Amrita would do much better in current times if she had debuted now, with all the small budget simple movies making waves nowadays, she would fit right in there.

I am not comparing her with Vidya, she isn't even Deepika level, let alone Vidya or Kangu.

My point towards grumpy was that she was just an average talent not a great one like Vidya or Kangu, she said Amrita was a great talent not getting her due because of nepotism and her being outsider.
Hence gave an example of Vidya, showing that what a great talent is about. And not a pigeon holed actress like Amrita, whose only USP was that she looked great with Shahid.



Amrita is a decent enough actress, I am not disagreeing, but she wasn't a great talent whom we lost and should regret, especially when talents like Divya Dutta, Konkona, Chitrangda, Richa Chadda and so on never got their due despite being much talented than Amrita Rao.




Asin was doing movies all big stars apart from SRK/HR. She was a popular name down south too, until she just lost interest.
Although she never became as huge as she too got pigeon holed.


I do think Amrita would have done decently in today's small movies, but she never could have become a huge star not because she was not given her due, because she was an outsider. Just that she didn't have it in her to he another Priyanka or Deepika.

Dp is an insider since her father is prakash p ! PC is insider as well because she got miss world title...but miss world aish, kangu, who had sugar daddy aditya and amrita are completly outsiders because the are my favs..😆

By the way she did 20 movies but only 4 are hits 😆 bade aaye outside's great talent got wasted...eh ?

but didn't kareena had 45 flops? I don't know the exact number of flops but I know her flops are longer list then hits😆

She is average actor but definitely very pretty 😆

Tbh amrita is very average actress/looker ! She has no spark except "girl next door image and a limited actress !

I never called them insiders. I'm just saying that could have given them an edge over someone like Amrita.

She was definitely very pretty and had that old world charm which today's actresses miss, charm like Madhuri Manisha Koirala had back in 90's

I think what didn't work for her was that she was very petite, Rakesh Roshan wanted to cast her in Krish but after her photoshoot with Hrithik, she was replaced so she could never be paired with Srk, Saif Salman etc

The she also refused a huge film bachana ae haseeno because of a kissing scene which obviously was a lie , she might have refused it because of being a 2nd lead

Saying no to such a huge banner obviously would cost her a lot

But she is a decent actress , whatever films she has done , she has been good in them and critics have mostly always praised her

Agreed I think the lack versatility was due to a few reasons. She came from a very conservative family. I know she got in trouble for being confused with Amrita Arora once. She was limited due to her petite frame. Lastly she was limited because she didn't have the same hype as some actresses due no major controversies or link ups that kept her in the news. She wasn't a good attention seeker in terms of PR. She was wanted to stay focused on her work.
