Okay - let's keep the jokes apart.
Ranveer, as much as talented and hard working he is, there is a definite agenda to promote him over some other actors. However, Audiences are fickle minded nowadays and it is hard to make it big by predictive programming alone, so I doubt if RS will make it as big as he is being prepped up for.
He also lacks the "Goddess Aura" of Queen Dippy which allows her to be no1 star even after not doing films for 3-4 years.
Right now, he has done a really good job In Padmaavat and he has also got a nice, appealing personality and more than decent mass connect so I guess producers are thinking that he can restore the name value status of film stars and bring more stars to the theatre.
And why won't they?
He has got so much name currently , and it only makes sense to strike the iron red hot.
However ,will the tactics actually work is something time will tell.
Padmaavat owes its box office to Karni Sena- Simbaa and Takht are looking sure shot blockbusters.
83 is something that can work or not -there are a lot of cricket fans in our country and sports biopics do rake in money.
But nevertheless , I do have a feeling RS will never make it Very big in terms of name value and eventually be relegated to someone who is always poised to arrive but never arrives
He's someone who gives good Box office in many of his films but most of the time its hard to pinpoint him as the sole reason of the blockbuster.
Of course, this applies to every actor , including RK and Aloo.
Even VD hasn't been able to be a good name value.
Let's see kya hota hai.
I personally feel for all his worth, RS has taken too much on his plate and if not managed carefully, his career will again plummet.
I wish him the best though.
