Exclusive: Sanjay Dutt to play Karim Lala?.

Buzz is that Sanjay Dutt, who plays
gangster roles better than anybody else
in Bollywood and who was seen in
Tigmanshu Dhulia's romantic crime
thriller Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster
3 playing one last month, is likely to act
as former underworld don Karim Lala in
a biopic that's reportedly going to be
made.

Karim Lala was the doyen of Bombay's
Pathans and indisputably the first
Godfather of the city's criminal world. He
was of Afghani ancestry and ruled the
city's gangland along with smuggler Haji
Mastan with an iron-like fist.

Ironically, ten years ago Milan Luthria
wanted to make a gangster film on
Karim Lala, Haji Mastan and Bombay's
South Indian strongman Varadarajan
Mudaliar in which he intended to cast
Dutt as Mastan.
Now, if the film on Karim Lala is made,
Dutt will be first choice to play the
Pathan gang lord. The production house
behind this biopic is reportedly in the
making itself but is believed to have
several big projects in the pipeline
among which is the Karim Lala film.
