Ehh, I don't think Kriti deciding to put a break on this relationship has anything to do with these rumors about him or her believing them.
But just the fact that these rumors keep floating around adds to the list of things that are not going well for him - dull Box Office buzz, movies stalling/delayed, waning interest among critics, poor perception within the bollywood circles regarding his social/networking skills, his non-star kid/outsider underdog cred taken over and adopted more successfully by Kartik Aaryan/Vicky Kaushal in the past one year, awkward interviewing and talking-on-mic skills (so I guess he isn't going to get award-hosting opportunities anytime soon), and so on.
Sushant also, right now, doesnt seem to be someone who is interested in investing time and effort into a relationship. He is too busy launching start ups, advocating for women's empowerment, learning musical instruments, painting, star-gazing, buying real-estate in outer space, writing potential bestsellers, debating quantum physics and planning world domination.
She, in comparison, is more easy-going with a lot more chill. She also comes from a stereotypical middle-class background - a BTech degree, academic/working-professional parents and one sibling. She probably was drawn to the whole similar "middle-class-background-and-almost-engineer" thing with Sushant but then probably realized there is nothing else that is typical about him or his personality.
But I am just assuming the break-up is also due to incompatibility among other factors. If not, and it is just the usual "nothing matters more than success" factor, then they might just get back together if Son Chiriya/Kedarnath work and Sushant gets a perception-makeover within the industry.
Or maybe, this article is a rumor itself and they are still together.😆
