Chak De and Dil Chahta Hai. Chak De has such an unbelievable repeat value that every person I know doesn't tell to change the channel when its playing on TV. That movie is just as complete as a movie can be. Great Direction, Great Performances, Great Story and most importantly an Engaging Screenplay. Despite being predictable story, Chak De India still managed to grab the audience interest because of its riveting screenplay. Which explored the two conflicts, one between an disinterested authority and rebellious Kabir Khan and his team, and the conflict between Kabir Khan and his team, the inner conflicts. Anyone who says they didn't enjoy and cheered when Bindia Naiyak changed herself and came on to change the game against South Korea, is an utter liar. Or when Komal passed the ball to Preety Sabarwaal. Or when the girls took on the guys in that restaurant. Or didn't felt a lump when Kabir Khan quietly left the house and that little kid was erasing the Gaddar text written on his wall. A truly satisfying movie.
Dil Chahta Hai was a revolutionary movie, the screenplay, the treatment, the story and the direction, everything was fresh and new. Many people didn't understood the movie when it released and hence it underperformed in mass belts, but it is still endured itself till date due to its absolutely excellent theme. The movie is showed us friendship like no other movie in BW did till that time. Before that friendship was all sacrificing and noble. But this movie showed us the more human side, more reality side of friendship. As one youtuber from Cinema Beyond Entertainment correctly says(must watch video), how the movie personified the three states of mind, Id-Akash, SuperEgo-Sid and Ego-Sameer. How Sameer is always inbetween Akash and Sid, who are always conflicting while Sameer is trying to balance the thing.
And the movie gave us the famous "Goa Trip" fad, I mean that alone makes the movie a classic.
