Salman Khan Opens Up On Priyanka Chopra's Exit From 'Bharat'

Salman Khan: Priyanka Chopra gave us the reason of marriage and a Hollywood project for walking out of Bharat

Salman Khan reacted to Priyanka Chopra opting out of his film, Bharat. Salman said at an event in Delhi that Priyanka Chopra had informed them her inability to do the film and they wish her the best.

Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra were to reunite on screen with Ali Abbas Zafar's Bharat. Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra had announced the film in April this year on social media. The film has gone on floors and Priyanka Chopra was to start shooting in 10 days, when she opted out of the film. The film's director Ali Abbas Zafar confirmed Priyanka's exit from the project on social media, with a cryptic tweet that suggested that she will tie the knot soon.

There were reports that Salman Khan is upset with Priyanka Chopra for walking out of the film at the last minute. Katrina Kaif has signed the film after Priyanka opted out. Priyanka has signed a film with Chris Pratt titled Cowboy Ninja Viking.' Salman Khan talked about Priyanka Chopra deciding to not do Bharat with him at an event to promote his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma's film, Loveratri.

Salman Khan said, "I am really happy for her. Uss waqt hum ko ye pata chalta ke unhone wahan par koi bahut badi film sign ki hai aur hume thoda pehla pata chalta to hum waise bhi usko kabhi rokte nahi (If we had known then that she has signed a big Hollywood film, we wouldn't have stopped her from leaving the film). End moment pe pata chala, shooting ke 10 din pehle pata chala. Shooting shuru ho gayi thi meri, par unke schedule se 10 din pehle pata chala ki who picture chhodna chahti hai. (We go to know at the end moment, 10 days before the shooting that she wants to leave the film)

He added, "We said of course, if you don't want to do it, don't do it. Uss waqt kuchh alag reason diye gaye the hame (We were given another reason then..) Jo bhi reason hai, shaadi ka reason ho, ya picture ka reason ho, ya unko India main nahi kaam karna, ya mere saath nahi kaam karna, sirf Hollywood film aur TV show karna hai, wo unka reason hai. (Whatever it is, her wedding, Hollywood film or the fact that she does not want to work with me, it's her reason.) We are really happy and supportive about her doing good work.

"Agar yahan pe kaam nahi kare to kya hua, waha pe to who Hindustan ka naam roshan kar rahi hai. Agar Salman Khan ke saath kaam nahi karna, waha ke kisi bade hero ke saath kaam kar rahi hai to Hindustan ka naam to roshan hota hai na (If she doesn't want to work here, there in Hollywood she is making our country proud. If she doesn't want to work with Salman Khan, she'll work with a top actor in Hollywood and make our country proud, Salman said.

Yeh tareef kar raha..kia kar raha hai😆 wese theek bhi hai, koi 10 din pehle film chore toh plan upset toh hoga..but priyanka has her reason too..who would leave a hollywood film for bharat 😉

Salman trying to control his anger. He must be really pissed off as she left the film due to some other film (no matter it's hollywood or not)

I would be pissed off too had I been Salman or anyone closely associated with the film, and no, I don't care how many times other male or female actors have done this in the past. I totally understand Priyanka wanting more and choosing a Hollwyood film over this one, but that also doesn't mean her behavior wasn't unprofessional here.

So she gave wedding as the reason (explains the director's "Nick" tweet), but the real reason is the Hollywood film?

Priyanka was in wrong for walking Out at the last minute but she is not wrong in wanting a better opportunity. In the same way, Salman has right to be pissed off thus his sarcasm is also ok. Just hope he doesn't drag this out, that's when it will be annoying.
