In an interview to Spotboye, Aishwarya was asked about working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali again. When asked when she will say YES' to a Bhansali project, she said, "Bajirao Mastani also we were supposed to do together. He didn't get the Bajirao for me. He didn't get the Khilji for me; He wanted me to do Padmaavat, but could not get the Khilji for me, at the casting time. So, that's how it didn't happen. I would love to work together.

She explained, "The person he saw to play Khilji with me playing Padmavati did not happen. So, at the end of the day, you need to see the casting. If the casting is not happening, then you know...sometimes, it doesn't come together. The intention is always there to work together, but it didn't happen. We both loved working with each other, so let's see, whenever it is meant to be.

Well, would you have liked to see Aishwarya Rai Bachchan play Queen Padmavati. Let us know your thoughts in comments.

I dunno how she would have acted, but at least Aish would have been the queen for starting a war can be justified.
Deepika was not even looking better than AHR, it was like fighting to win Ramos in your team when you have Nesta-Thuram pair in the center of your defense.

Salman would've been the WORST choice for Khilji!!!! DO is the only worthy replacement for Ash. No-one comes close. She looked veryyy beautiful in PD!

SLB is a big name for female actors.

Today you cant talk about Madhuri Dixit, without mentioning Devdas.

Manisha's best films are Khamoshi,Dil se,1942 A love story(all flops)..only Bombay was a hit.

Her beauty would have justified the war being fought for her and I think Aish has plenty of grace to do justice to the role of queen. Well, if not padmavat, I hope we can at-least see one more historical with Aish + SLB combo in the near future.

she is trying to say well i am the real beauty fit to play padmavati...
i was the first choice

i was in mind...

but later deepika was chosen

no matter ho much fame and money these people will earn..their mind is still cheap...always thinking highly og themselves...

but then again when u have fans who worship u like God then u tend to get into khush fehmi

below average actress...average looks

Seriously Salman would have been the worst , he can't even move his muscles nowadays carrying out Khilji was impossible .

OT : I do agree Ash could have taken the role, she would have looked good as Padmavati but if anyone was worthy of replacing her its DP , i dont see anyone else.
