For the longest time, speculations were rife that Ranbir Kapoor and Anurag Basu are planning a big biopic on legendary Indian singer and composer Kishore Kumar. The actor's life has all elements of a potential Bollywood potboiler there's success, failure, love, scandals galore.
Ranbir and Anurag haven't been able to put a date to their film and it failed to take off. But now, we hear another production house is planning to make a film about Kumar. And for the eccentric character, they have started initial talks with another Gen-Y star, one of Ranbir's arch rivals, to star in it.
Our source reveals, "If all goes well, Ranveer Singh might soon sign the dotted line for the biopic. The singer was known for his quirk and madness and Ranveer totally suits the role to the T. The makers of the film don't want to make a formal announcement yet but they have already discussed the plan with Kishore Kumar's family and they have also given a go-ahead on Ranveer. Now, it needs to be seen if our Khilji is ready to take it up.
Ranveer, as of now, is busy filming for Simmba' following which he takes time off for the big fat November wedding with Deepika Padukone. Along with that, he has another release Gully Boy' next year. He begins shooting for Kapil Dev biopic '83' next year but there's plenty of time in between and even after the sports biopic, to squeeze in the Kumar biopic as well.
