Just watched Dhadak today. I have never seen Sairat and so the ending was a complete mind-f*ck for me!!! I was so shocked at how they decided to end the movie. OMG still can't get over it. Because of that, I have mixed feelings about it haha.
But in terms of acting- Ishaan was pretty dam good. He looked very natural in his role. Jahnvi impressed me. I didn't expect much from her TBH, but I found she did the emotional scenes very well. She is really good at looking sad/devastated/hurt etc. The scenes requiring her to be a little more bubbly/happy looked a little forced to me. Her voice is very distracting to me as well, it will take a little getting used to, but all in all, I liked her in this role. Supporting actors- like the one who played Ishaans best friends were really great, as well as Jahnvi's father and brother. The rest were more or less like fillers to me.
The story was a little slow at times and seemed to drag. I enjoyed everything but the last 5 minutes of the movie. Its not necessarily the fact that it was 'sad' because I've watched Raazi which was also a sad ending and liked it just fine, but just the way it was shown, I was just a little shaken after it, but I guess that means it was impactful and if that is what they were going for, then they succeeded!
I love the title track and Zingaat, but the rest of the music tract- if there is one? is nothing to write home about.
I am guessing all the star kids will now buckle-up. The expectation was always there for them to do well, but now there is actual pressure with all the discussion regarding nepotism. But Jahnvi was good and so hopefully she will keep it up! I am sure Sri must be proud of her.
Also- message to Sri from Jahnvi before the movie started made me feel alll sorts of ways. So so sad <3
