I came across "inside a scene" by film companion where directors break down a particular scene of their own film.
Has anyone else checked these out? I saw a few and found these two interesting:

Since it will be 20 yrs of KKHH in October, here's Karan explaining this scene from KKHH 😆:

I don't know why he was cringing or felt embarrassed. It's as if Karan feels KKHH isn't as "cool" in today's times. Funny thing is it's arguably his most loved film regardless.

This scene from Tamasha was interesting as well. I think this was perhaps my favorite scene from Tamasha. Unlike Karan, Imtiaz actually does a good job explaining his scene with interesting details. 😆

The Tamasha one is my absolute favorite, and I was gladly surprised to know I had understood it well as Imtiaz explained it. I can watch it again and again and again and still get the same emotions. The years of suppression of feelings suddenly bursting forth in an uncontrolled manner was so well done. Him losing it, and her trying to calm him down through those light pats on the head - so beautifully touching. If that is not love, then what is? 😊
I was also amazed to see how well Imtiaz understands the human mind. He won me over with this film, and of course, Ranbir and Deepika were spot on in terms of acting. One of the most beautiful films I have seen.

That's actually one of the few scenes I like from Tamasha. Imtiaz speaks well. Actually I think he does everything well apart from direction and writing. He should take up some other job behind the scenes. Like assisting the composers, scouting locations, selecting costumes, casting, hair dressing etc etc. Anything other than story telling.
I repeat my comment on KJo. Looking at the way he cringes at his past work, you'd think he is currently making Pulp Fiction and The Godfather 🤪

This was a brilliantly enacted scene. Definitely my favorite in the entire film. About Imtiaz understanding the human mind - that part where he explains how he would say cut right when Deepika would show signs of breaking down, says everything. I'm not a huge fan of Imtiaz's films, particularly because the film's execution in its entirety can be very flawed IMO, but he definitely understands human emotions. This is one of those scenes where he really got it right. I like how he chose this cafe, a public space for this confrontation and rationalized it with how sometimes you can't help but have emotional moments in public which was also his reference point (he saw a girl crying somewhere in Europe etc.)

And LOL @ KJo who was explaining his scene by focusing on stupid things like his argument with Manish on pink 😆

He tries way too hard to act cool but sounds more like a wannabe. 😆

@ bold: so true..for a director who last directed ADHM and then ruined it with that cringeworthy (asf) cancer track in the end, Karan seems to show signs of delusion. 😆

Omg that scene from tamasha, epic
No matter what, I never miss Imtiaz movies
Hit ya flop
Is there chance him, Deepika and Ranbir do another film

I would pick Imtiaz scene over KJO scene
