I don't know if you were looking for a genuine answer but here's mine. I haven't watched all those police movies coz I don't like this genre that Rohit directs. But clearly many people do like it which is why those movies make tons of money (which keeps the industry going) and that money can be used to fund different kinds of projects. These movies also expose the actors to a bigger audience so that they'll be willing to give those different projects a try so I get the importance of them.

which was the last policeman role? way back in 2014 with Singham 2. It is almost 4years. And Temper(the movie which is said to be inspiration behind Simbaa) was not about a honest inspector like Singham, rather more about a corrupt inspector who later on becomes good, but it is also not Dabaang anti-hero type.
