iI think path-breaking was the fact that Censor Board asked for no cuts and passed the movie as it is. Just imagine if Pahlaj Nihalani was still around😆

I honestly don't get the whole debate about how women being "allowed" to cuss, have a self-pleasure scene in a movie is considered less path-breaking than the movies made on female wrestlers or female hygiene (periods, toilets etc).
Veere Di Wedding should not be reduced to an adult movie because it is much more than that. It is a liberal and relatable movie. I cannot relate to a movie about sanitary napkins because I didn't have that upbringing but I can relate to a girl being labelled s**t if she has a certain lifestyle. I can attest to the fact that a women can never be "complete" until she gets married. Why can't we talk about these issues. The rating of Veere Di Wedding at 2.6 on Imdb just shows how uncomfortable our society as a whole is to accept a movie that is liberal. So, yes this movie and that scene should be celebrated not for some path-breaking cinema but for being the first commercial movie to talk and celebrate the lives of these women.

Menstruation in Padman is as path breaking as female masturbation in Veere. Because we keep hiding them! Dangal is as important as Veere. It is important to understand that a woman can do anything a man can but it is equally important to understand that a woman also has sexual desires like any dude! We talk about men's sexual lives very openly...so why are we shy about our own? 😃
