Films like these will always be made and the makers would continue to get money because it is not much. They arrive with a "zero share" expectations (worst case) and the movie economics are dealt that way. The problem arises when its a Bombay Velvet, Rangoon or a Broken Horses scenario.

On the bolded part - that would happen and did happen for example for Dharma briefly (before Baahubali bailed it) and Dharma Productions don't make films like THESE. Tubelight, Ra.one (some more SRK films) and films of those type are what going to kill the industry due to there loses. They are made expensively and sold expensively.

I can very well expected a reply from a Hardcore Aamir fan like you, bringing big films name to show how Industry suffered coz of them is your excuse?? =)) šŸ˜†

1 Tubelight's Laashe Bichhne is ICONIC for you, while 10 other Salman films which have Double/Tripple Distributor Share, way more than Expected isn't anything. You are mocking 1 Salman film which even Salman gave back money to distributors, while he has 6 films with 100 plus Distributor share, probably same amount of loss which Bombay Velvet, Rangoon & Jagga jasoos kind of films made.

Here Salman films earning not just from theatrical, but from all other sources, & Aamir fan get offended from Dil Chahta hai Syndrome kind of films trashing =)) 🤣

You don't know shit about figures, so better stick to bashing based on 1 komal nahta's sentence =)) šŸ˜†

FINALLY AN UPDATE GUYS

Veere Di Wedding Has Pretty Good Hold On Monday

Veere Di Wedding held up pretty well on Monday to record business of around 5.25 crore nett. It was anormal 50% drop from Friday but collections are at good levels. It has crossed 40 crore nett in four days and should end the week around 54 crore nett.

The film should emerge a HIT as long as there is not a big drop on Friday. Jurassic World - Fallen Kingdom will release on Thursday and could hit collections a little especially the urban crowd with whom Veere Di Wedding has found some appreciation. .

The first four day collections of Veere Di Wedding are as follows.

Friday - 10,75,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 11,50,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 12,75,00,000

Monday - 5,25,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 40,25,00,000 apprx

Despite the solid start it will end up doing similar footfalls to films like Dear Zindagi, Kapoor & Sons, Neerja and Pink which also only appealed to the urban crowd. It shows that whether these films open well or work by growth the end result is that limited audience of around 60 lakh footfalls.

The films that have that little bit extra and can appeal to a few of the other major cities outside metros like Jaipur, Lucknow, Surat, etc be it Raazi or Sonu Ke Tito Ki Sweety then they can go a lot further.

Bhavesh Joshi Superhero dropped on Monday with a 50% fall and collections of 12-13 lakhs nett. The total so far is a little over 1 crore nett and it will close up at under 1.50 crore nett for its total run..

Poor response leads to Bhavesh Joshi Superhero shows being replaced by Veere Di Wedding

Now the screen count of Vikramaditya's vigilante revenge film has dropped down by 40 to 50 per cent

By Ganesh Aaglave | Published: June 5, 2018 9:00 pm

As expected, it was not a wise decision for Bhavesh Joshi Superhero makers to clash with Sonam Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan's Veere Di Wedding at the box office. While the female buddy comedy raked in Rs 36.52 crore in its opening weekend, the Harshvardhan Kapoor-starrer earned merely Rs 1 crore in the first three days of release. By looking at such a poor response and no footfalls, many cinema owners cancelled Bhavesh Joshi Superhero's shows and replaced it with Veere Di Wedding. Now the screen count of Vikramaditya's vigilante revenge film has dropped down by 40 to 50 per cent.

Well, this is definitely not a good thing for Junior Kapoor as his both films Mirzya and Bhavesh Joshi Superhero failed miserably at the box office. Despite getting decent reviews, Harsh's latest flick didn't attract the audience due to its niche appeal and no star power. As per Midday, an official person from a multiplex said, "The morning shows of Bhavesh Joshi Superhero have been cancelled as we hardly had any audience opting for it. We have added more shows of Veere Di Wedding instead. (Also Read: Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor's Veere Di Wedding grosses over Rs 73 crore at the worldwide box office)

In fact, compared to Bhavesh Joshi Superhero, holdover releases like Raazi, Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran and Deadpool 2 are still going strong at the box office. We hope that Harshvardhan Kapoor gets his first success with Abhinav Bindra biopic, which is expected to go on floors very soon. Anyway, do you think Bhavesh Joshi Superhero, would have performed better if it had a solo release? Share your thoughts in the comments section below...

Problem with this guy is that he looks down on Bollywood, considers himself above what it represents, yet wants to continue working here, too. Can't have it both ways, son. a
If he really wants to make a name for himself, he shouldmake content for the digital medium which seems much more suited to the kind of work he wants to doe

Watched it today and it was a good film. Very realistic and with a good storyline. I thought it dragged a bit in the middle but overall it was good. I realised while watching it that the audience, including me, is so shallow in our country. They don't want to see movies on real issues or even anything new in a movie as much as they want/ crave for formula films. They get bored when somebody talks about politics and stuff without the romantic angles or the songs. It is so sad. And I am super impressed with Harsh for taking up a movie like this and doing a decent job in his performance. I remember him saying that he would rather that a few years down the line, somebody would look at his filmography and say that he did a good job. And I think so far he's going that way for sure.

Most audiences go for the movies because the trailer impresses them, a good story line, they like an actor, character, franchise. They do not go for bashaans or movies that cannot make up their mind what it aspires to be. Most of all the actor must be likable or have a reputation as a very good actor. So many actors are massive assholes, but they attract audiences because they are either very good actors or built a career attracting an audience.

It is well and good Harsh wants to sit on his father's money and make the movies he likes. But if he wants to get the resume he thinks he deserves, he better start making some money. 1.5 crores total in the BO is ridiculous. Movie making is not a charity. He better have some respect for his father and start listening to him. Oh and stop looking down upon people like Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp. Their pappas beat them, they moved multiple times, were raised by single mothers and art was an escape. They forged their own path and more importantly money. Even his favorite Terrence Mallick needed Brad Pitt who paid his dues in chauffeuring strippers and wearing chicken costumes to produce his magnum opus which was booed in Cannes. Harsh should drop into the real world right about now. Hopefully he gets to make his next movie about some obscure biopic. Dhoni he ain't. Even the Sachin biopic did not make money. It will be interesting to see the career Daddy's money can buy.
