Most tv stars don't have scope to make it as movie stars. It's the same way it is in India. There might be 1 or 2 breakthroughs but it doesn't happen often. Sometimes they get supporting roles and character roles like Ram Kapoor does. It works the same way in HW.

PC will definitely get offered more tv shows but leading roles in HW movies are unlikely. She is lucky because she always has BW. She is already going back to do Bharat. I think she will mainly stay in India like Deepika. Maybe if she gets another role, she can go to the US briefly. She won't live in NY anymore.

I think it's a little diff in HW bcz outsiders are not blocked entry like BW

Since the 70s, quite a few TV stars have made it big in HW, from Clint Eastwood ( cannot find a bigger star than that) to George Clooney and several others

But agree about PC's HW chances

I forgot to mention that without Quantico, her work visa will also expire so she can't stay in the US unless she lands another TV job. A movie won't get her a long visa. They would only provide it for the duration that a movie is filming or for whatever event the person is attending.

It's still rare. There might be one or two per generation that make it really big. There are thousands of actors working on TV. 90% don't land anything outside of tv roles. The more prominent ones get supporting roles and character roles sometimes in movies.

It's rare to become a true blue movie star. There was George Clooney in the 90s and maybe 10 years later, there was Steve Carell. I can't think of anyone else after him.

Do you really think so? I don't think she would have gone to do Bharat if there were movies available to her in HW. I don't think anyone who wants to be a HW star would turn down juicy roles to do a role opposite Salman in a BW movie.

Rare?

Like half the A listers started with TV. From Will Smith to Tom Hanks to Jennifer Garner to Bradley Cooper to Bruce Willis to Blake Lively and tons of others.

Not just That, A listers go back to all the time. It's not considered beneath them like in Bollywood.

Sure this forum is a different story but TV in India too is respected at least for its sheer reach with the masses if nothing else - otherwise the likes of Karishma, Anil, Sridevi, Raveena, Amitabh, etc. wouldn't have done TV shows. It's certainly not as un touchable as it's made out to be here lmao!

In the US, ofcourse along with reach, TV shows come up with brilliant and groundbreaking content, something we see less of here, hence there's definitely a respect for the medium.
