Ikr. He is attractive though but not ALL that he is said to be. It will though, never fail to amuse me how our skin is loved all over the world except India 😆 where people want to be lighter & lighter.. Who is that in your DP BTW?

That's Australia. Also that's not entirely true. In the west, Padma Lakshmi is hailed as a goddess while in India she would be considered just a pretty face. And there's no way Amara Karan would be considered beautiful in India, attractive maybe that too in her own small circle.

I personally feel people always crave for what they don't have. And this applies even for the complexion. Like my mumma says, Doosre di thali ch ghyo hamesha zyada hi disda hein i.e Grass is always greener on the other side. I know most of my friends with curls want straight hair and staright hair beauties want curls coz straight apparentlybis boring.

In the Western media and English language they always exaggerate...

They don't just say beautiful or very beautiful, they have to say the most beautiful in the whole world, most beautiful woman I've ever seen etc.

Not sure about that...

They might prefer a golden tan to pale and pasty skin... That's about it

The women seem to prefer dark as in Latino complexion

BS: True, baffles me as to why someone's skin is so dark, and people go out of their way to lighten her. Amara Karan is beautiful. Though I do know of women nearly as dark as AK who are considered beautiful especially by Indian men- SHOCKER, I know.

Betty: Nah I've always seen, from my cousins experiences & my mother's & friends, white pepper rave about their dusky-dark complexion. It's hilarious to me. When I lived outside India, they wouldn't stop raving about my Mum & sister's skin. As BebaakBegum said, we all want what we don't have.

BLUE - Not entirely true

They cannot praise a person's fair skin or call a dark person ugly out loud or in public, it would be considered not only un- PC but highly offensive and racist

This is true.

Angrez are busy tanning...and Indians are busy trying fair and lovely...😆

As a kid I wanted curly or wavy hair like my friends and cousins...now my hair has become confused and moody and I just want it to be straight like before..😆

Aspiring actresses/models with really dark skin in the West would tell you how much racism and rejection they suffer bcz of their skin color, their skin is too dark...

Although nowadays they have to make sure there is a dark skin person in evrery scene 😛
