I wish someone would dare to do it. I remember Neena Gupta was not treated well during her time.

I don't think anybody will mind unless she is asking for child support payments.

+1 on that. I read about motherless births a while back but it seems like it will take a few decades for the scientists to realise that. Just don't understand the sentimentality of giving birth through your own body if there is another way to do it. Better and safer way.

if artificial wombs become a reality next step would be designer babies
Also can they find some alternative to hysterectomy ?
imagine if women won't have to deal with periods, contraception & pregnancy

There are so many children in the world desperate for a loving home. Why not adopt? I simply do not get this obsession people have with biological children.

I also do not get the obsession with Caucasians. If I were to have children the qualities I would want in them is humility, determination, and smartness. Qualities which so many Indians back home have. Why import a product when there is plenty growing in your backyard?

I don't understand the people who don't get why people are 'obsessed' with having biological children. I mean it's natural that you love your own. You gave birth, you contributed towards it's making which makes one have natural, true and unconditional love towards the baby. I don't understand those who seem to love others' kids, which infact should be questioned because one can never love them like your own. It's only natural and can't even blame them. Nobody can ever replace your own parents, nobody can love like them.
I don't even understand how some people start having parental instincts without becoming actual parents like - a couple after getting married etc. Does having sex give you parental instincts?

On Topic: Mujhe lagta hai Roohi aur Yash ki maa ek nahin hai. 2 eggs, 2 different donors.

Don't they share a birthday?

I honestly have never looked at Roohi and Yash's pics long enough to notice Yash. Like I said Roohi scares me.

I think the artificial womb technology is about keeping the embryo alive outside the body and is different from designer babies in which they could just design the embryo and plant it back in a womb. So designer babies could be a reality before that. And I think it should be possible soon seeing how they just need to identify the correct genes to modify for simple physical traits . It will probably be for the best.

Not having to deal with the "women issues" would be great without the added problems of removing an organ . I don't know if anyone's working on this currently but I think some kind of a pause or ovaries-deactivation must be a reality in the future.

So yah even a breeder lower life form as u put it, who can't be snatched from him should be better than one that can be taken from him saying he isn't their biological parent

Forget gay single men. Single people, in general, have a very difficult time adopting children.

There are many people in this world of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and marital status who are willing to adopt children and give them a loving home. Unfortunately, there are many political and legal barriers for some people to adopt.

You make an excellent point that biological children give you an inherent biological right and claim over your children. Karan Johar though is someone with power and money. In extremely homophobic countries, including parts of India, gay men and women would struggle to have custody of biological children. History of homophobia has shown gay people having biological children being taken away as well.

In general adoption laws are older and established compared to surrogacy. Closed adoptions have been in the legal system for a long time. Surrogacy is new and legal systems are still catching up. The woman who donates her egg can still claim motherhood. If she is a western Caucasian it becomes an iffy matter of two nation's surrogacy laws. If she ever has a stable partner, she can always build the case that she and her partner would make a stable healthy family than a single gay man. Then there is the matter of the person who carried the child.

Of course, this is all pure speculation and KJo and kids will have a long fruitful family life.

----------
My pragmatic philosophy is "and it harm none do as thou wilt." In that sense, KJo or anyone, as a matter of fact, has full freedom to choose what kind of family they want to start.
----------

I still personally reserve the right to look down on breeders as a lesser form of being. One of life's sweetest joys is being a single childless person mocking everyone for their life choices.

^Gauri's brother had blonde hair and blue eyes as a kid. SRK used to talk about it in early interviews - that Gauri's brother used to threaten him on the phone when they were dating and he sounded deadly. Then he saw him in person and it turned out to be this sweet blond haired blue eyed kid.

Indians have lots of mixed genes and they show up randomly sometimes. Look at Lara Dutta and Mahesh Bhupati's daughter - she looks like a little white girl and both parents are dark. And most of the time, these kids get darker with age and the hair gets darker too. I've known babies personally that start off with light eyes and have brown eyes by the time they're adults. Same goes for hair - baby hair can be a lot lighter and gets darker as they grow up.

Genes are weird, especially in people like Indians where lots of different skin tones would have mixed over generations. Occasionally a recessive trait will show up.

You cannot "HAD" blonde hair and blue eyes and all of a sudden your color changes... blonde hair stays blond or turns gray/white when you get old. Blue eyes stay the same. AbRam looks WHITE. Maybe he might be some SRK's lover kid. I mean a man.

Someday in the future, I hope that women will be able to enjoy a safe period-free life.

Have you read up on the history of contraceptives? In the early years, both male and female contraceptives were being developed. But it was determined that men would be unwilling to risk hormonal changes and mood swings, so the pill became the female responsibility.

The vasectomy is a simple reversible measure. The time and discomfort are equivalent to insertion of an IUD. Unlike the IUD a vasectomy does not have to be replaced every few years. Nor is there additional for implants. Just the surgical time. Yet, birth control becomes the woman's responsibility. There are male contraceptives like easy to use painless spermicidal gels, yet they are barely advertised. After all birth control is a female responsibility.

Every time I see a birth control ad and they rattle off all the risks and side effects at the end - I tell myself - Thank God I don't have to deal with that shit.
