Sometimes families take a picture and circulate in media and thats totally fine. They are celebrities and fans wants to see them for the last time.By doing so they can atleast hope to control the crowd. But what is unethical is media sneaking in and taking pictures and videos without any permission. Isn't that illegal? thats complete invasion of privacy and media has no right.

It is perfectly fine to click pictures of a dead body. People often hire photographers for funerals. For many people, it is a means of final memories before the ultimate goodbye (cremation or burial).
That being said it is unacceptable to click photos of a dead body without explicit permission or invitation from the family of the deceased.

I don't find it okay. also not okay to click selfies with people in critical condition at the hospital. Maybe your intention is honest but it comes across very insensitive.

If the family has given their consent, then it is okay. However, the media these days is very insensitive. They get lower and lower each day.

No it's not, people have a right regarding their image and a decease person can't give his/her consent to be photographed and for the pics being spread. Said person can't even sue photographers for this as they aren't alive anymore.
It's all comes down to respecting each other and people's memory as well as the relatives, friends and other acquaintance feelings.

Your opinion of whether it is okay or not depends on your culture and time. Less than a century ago, in the west, the deceased were often professionally photographed in upright positions, as if they were alive.

This is a wikipedia page that talks about it in more detail: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-mortem_photography

It is called post-mortem photography. Look it up.

And this is a BBC article with pictures of women, children, and men photographed after their deaths, in positions to mimic life: http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-36389581

It was a common tradition that was practised for hundreds of years. It still is practised in many parts of the world.

Moral of my story, it is ok and it is not ok, depending on who you are. That's fine. Life and death are are never celebrated and mourned the same everywhere.

The British Tabloid Daily Mail has a close up of her face in the coffin which I avoided seeing so long. They say this was issued by a major Indian news media and used widely in the Indian Press. 🤔

Post mortem art is different from violating a dead person's face with a photoshop or a long distance camera when the family would not want that. It's an issue of constant and respect.
