I am a huge fan of Shahrukh Khan. One of the biggest reasons for being his fan is that I was a teenager when 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge' came out. That movie had a huge impact on my generation. To this day it continues to evoke emotions and nostalgia.
A lot of fans claim to be fans of the 'acting' and often rabidly defend their favorites acting chops. In reality, we are fans of the cult of personality they create. As I have grown older, I have learned to embrace that.

As an actor, Shahrukh is highly inconsistent. He is no doubt exceptionally talented. He is not blessed with dashing good looks or a hot body. It is his talent and charm that has made him a superstar. I'll touch upon charm later. But his talent is something he tends to waste. He has some wonderful performances like Swades and Chak De India. His best performance to date is the highly underrated Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa where he gives a down to earth restrained performance making us fall in love with the character of a 'loser'. But in most of his films, he tends to resort to overacting and excessive emotions.

His greatest selling point though is his charm. He has always been a very funny, thoughtful, well-spoken person. It is this charm that has got him global admiration despite being literally shitty in some films.

Apart from his charm, he is a very intelligent brand manager. Throughout his career, he has been astutely aware that fans do not buy acting, they actually buy brands. And brand SRK is a meticulously constructed and managed brand. What I truly admire is that he makes no bones about the fact that he is a branded commodity. Part of his brand is also acknowledging his massive ego that goes into being a celebrated brand.

It is the marketer in me. I do love celebrities who are great at brand management. I cannot help but fall for exquisitely constructed human brands. So in the list of other celebrities, I absolutely adore for their brand management are Sonam Kapoor, Taylor Swift, and Lady Gaga.

PC- Love her for her ambition and go-getter attitude. She has made so many strides breaking through global barriers, but even before that, she was doing amazing roles in BW, showing her versatility. She is a wonderful actress. When the BW mafia made her an outcast, she still clawed her way back in and now they are sucking up to her, which makes me so happy LOL. She has also dabbled into other parts of film making. But mostly she's so inspirational in terms of showing the world, you can get what you want and that kind of attitude is useful in any field- the drive to achieve your goals!

Also love that she does so much work for underprivileged children. It breaks my heart to see so many children go without food, water, education etc. As a part of UNICEF and even before her involvement with them she tries to raise awareness and help out which I absolutely love!

Did he really go thru all this? Not his fan but not saying he's lying

Nowadays that's the trend so I always take their sad stories with a grain of salt

All the actresses say they were shy, had no friends and were ugly duckling, teased at school, not popular etc. at school

But who knows in his case it could be true

Bold - Was he sent to juvenile correction facility for that?

Ahhh... Innumerable reasons.. Have you seen his smile? His charm? His arrogance? His personality?😳

On a serious note, I love people in jodis.. I guess being a hopeless romantic that I used to be, I was always drawn to jodis.. Like Hiten-Gauri, Mohit Sanaya, Ram Gautami
So what attracted me to Shah was the unabashed love for his wife.. In the time when actors used to be hesitant in accepting their marriages, not only did he accept it but that too with full pride.. That made me go all mushy and awww.. Then of course, it was his overall personality that got me hooked.. His eloquence, his respect to women, the little things like putting a napkin for Kajol while she eats, the way he accepts his flaws, his wittiness and charm.. Everything contributed
And the fact that I love romantic movies did not harm😆 His movies took me away from reality at a time when things were not easy.. They made me believe in love

Okay how cheesy do I sound😆 But you did ask😳😆

That's sweet,

I fall for chemistry too... particularly couples who create magical chemistry onscreen...

That's one thing Indian actors are great at I feel creating good chemistry without any hankypanky onscreen

Even during old times in silly Doordarshan episodic shows we got to see jodis with great chemistry which they manage to create just with their expressions and no touching (except maybe hugs)

Bold - That is true... And in the 90s when everybody was formal during offscreen appearances he was jovial, charming, engaging and witty... Peopel don't realize that Gauri started the trend of fashionable, media friendly BW spouse in India. Before that spouses were not seen or heard much

Salman khan - charity/ giving heart.
An incident that stood out - showing how different he is.

Karan was hosting a show where the star collects money through labour and the amount that is collected, an equivalent amount is added by the show or channel. This money then goes to a person in need for medical or education... basically for a needy cause.

Salman's Episode was in the middle of the season. He was the only star who said that he would pay for the wife's medical from his pocket. He educate the daughter from his own pocket. The money the family would get from the show, the father should take advice from the financial advisors from the show and invest it towards their future so that they can improve their situation.

He was the only star who thought beyond the today and thought to give them an opportunity to uplift their lives. Hence as flawed as he is... I admire him for his giving nature.

Shah and to a lesser extent Kajol. Eternally, from when I was a small kid.
Had me at hello, which was I think Baazigar. I don't think when the movie was on screen, but probably on VCR. I was a kid who did not know Hindi, from a non-Hindi background. My exposure was south movies and HW until then. I was mesmerized by the song and him. Well, them. Even then what they were on screen was magical to me I suppose. Plus floppy hair and puppy eyes. I learned to speak Hindi because of him,

What I am surprised is it has lasted this long. Shah of today represents many things I do not like in what has happened to films. But still he is magical on screen to me even now. There are better actors, better movies that I have criticized. But I let Shah slide even if I try very hard to be fair with him and criticize him too, but only up to a point. I will still pay for his movies, go for them when others will make me write a bitter, critical post after it is released on DVD 😛. Why ? Simply because the feeling I get seeing Shah on screen. Nothing to do with a story or acting. Simply the feeling I always get when I see him on screen. A happy feeling even when I am an adult. I like seeing him on screen. Simple as that.

His movies have been the ones I have watched when I was sad, when I needed a pick me up. His songs were the ones I listened to when I was happy, sad, nostalgic, on a road trip, danced to them alone and in a group. He is a part of my memories. I don't think I have ever invested the time and money on someone not related to me like I have done for Shah. But he's also without knowing I exist given me so many happy memories. For me, Shah is my Shah. I know so much crap about him it's not even funny. But he's like family. Sounds ridiculous but it is as simple as that.

This !

Not only i admire him for this nature but it also inspires me a alot to give others whatever u have !it also gives immense happy ...though people mock and make fun of his charity but i read lot of aricles where it helped the needy people be it 1% but the giving nature and charty inspires the people like me all around !

Not only this most of his costars says he asks his staff on sets ki "aap khana khaya ki nahi " and then offers them unlimited plate full of meals..even akshay kumar said in an interview that the kind of charity he does without even thinking and he had seen him giving bundles of money to people who need it. ..etc

Deepika - I like her sorted personality. I like that she doesn't give inflammatory statements against others. Yes, there are that weird boy stuff she says but I think that is to create controversies and I think that is better than to hurt someone. She seems more focused on herself and frankly I think she only cares about Ranveer. I like that she has simple tastes and a simple way of speaking, i.e., no accent. I also think she's very innocent about certain things like sometimes she doesn't know that another actress doesn't like her lol Her career wasn't going well before she had back to back hits suddenly in 2013 and I love that after she was down in the pits because of her breakup, that happened to her. I love that story, I love that justice was served in a way and both those people Ranbir and Kat are going through a bad phase in their careers and also broke up. I mean the tables literally have turned, they both were way ahead in their careers when DP got dumped. I started liking her around 2012, maybe because of the breakup story and how it resonated with me at that time. So, whether it is her personal qualities, her love life arc or her professional qualities like acting, unbelievable looks and good acting, I like all of it.

Ranveer - I like how he is mad after Deepika lol I like that intensity. He seems like the best lover a girl could have. Other than that, he is so sure of himself. Wearing those atrocious clothes takes a LOT of guts. And whatever weird things he keeps doing, I love that he just goes ahead and does what he wants. His dedication to his work, I feel like some characters he has done have become better just because HE has done them. He elevated them to a better level. I am not sure about this and I hope it is true but I think that he doesn't mind that Deepika is more successful than him. I absolutely love and respect that kind of confidence and security and pure love that he has for her. He is friendly with the people he works with, no hard feelings anywhere. What is not to like? And then there's that way he looks at Deepika

These are the people I like to some extent-

Jackie - She works really hard and I love her chirpy nature. Sometimes she giggles a bit too much but she is always polite in the way she talks, looks like she has a fun time with her colleagues and also like that she dances extremely well. Looks like a million bucks too. She is actually the kind I earlier used to thin Katrina is, then I realised she is a sly fox.

Varun - He works hard. Never gets into unnecessary limelight. Most of the news about him is regarding his work which is commendable. He seems very respectful towards almost all his seniors, very humble. Just seems very genuine and sincere.

Tiger - Genuine, sincere, hardworking. I find his shyness endearing.

Kriti - She seems like the kind of girl who will want to go for the glamorous roles but actually she is more grounded than that with a decent acting capability. Again seems very real in her interviews.

Alia - Cuz she's so driven. She seems like nothing gets to her and she can handle her competition before they even know they're her competition lol I like that ruthless vibe to her.
