Raid has held up well in its second weekend as it collected 15.25 crore nett which is a drop of 61% from its first weekend. This is better than normal trending but the first weekend was not a really that big. The total business of the film is 75 crore nett in ten days.
It remained the top collecting film this week as most centres barring metros collected better than Hichki. But Raid is also turning out to be a multiplex film as single screen business is mixed with some parts doing well and others not doing so well. The film should become the highest Ajay Devgn grosser outside Rohit Shetty directed films and most of these have been festival or holiday releases.
The apprx collections of Raid till date are as follows
Week One - 59,86,00,000
Friday - 3,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 5,25,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 6,75,00,000 apprx
Second Weekend - 15,25,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 75,11,00,000 apprx
Raid enjoyed a good second weekend at the Box Office as Rs. 15 crore* more came in. With this the film has now reached Rs. 79 crore* and in the process the lifetime total of Ajay Devgns two films have been surpassed. While Drishyam [Rs. 77 crore] was in the same zone and gathered this moolah over a period of time, Baadshaho [Rs. 78 crore] was a much more commercial affair and still Raid has managed to go past it.
The film has held on well and mass as well as class audiences are giving it a dekko at centers where it was expected to do well. Even though Hichki is doing decent business as well in its first weekend, Raid is holding on screens which shows that the film has been accepted. As a matter of fact if not for Hichki, the film could well have gathered Rs. 4-5 crore more already.
Another film which is still bringing in audiences is Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. The film has already gathered Rs. 105 crore* and is still left with some steam. A lifetime total of Rs. 107-108 crore is for the taking here and that would take it past other comic entertainers like Son of Sardaar [Rs. 105 crore] and Golmaal 3 [Rs. 106 crore]. It would be quite challenging though for the film to go past Housefull 3 [Rs. 109 crore], though that was a much bigger film and a truly starry affair.
