Deepika REVEALS how she felt when she was THREATENED to be BEHEADED

Before the release of "Padmaavat", Deepika Padukone was threatened by the members of Karni Sena that they will behead her.

During our recent interaction, when we asked her about her condition at those times and how she managed to stay strong throughout, she said that she remained confident throughout the row due to the upbringing she got from her parents, who were full of pride after watching the movie.

"You know, my parents never once had asked me if they should come and live with me during that whole phase because they were confident about the fact that I can handle this. That is my spirit, that is how we (my sister and I) have been brought up. We have learnt that what is right is right, what is wrong is wrong," said Deepika, daughter of former badminton player Prakash Padukone.

Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, "Padmaavat" is based on the 16th century poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi's "Padmavat". The film stars Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in lead roles.

I cannot imagine the plight of Deepika at those times.

Imagine getting death threats.

Even with Z security one won''t feel safe.

i feel bad for Deepika's family...they are not from BW and I doubt they know what games are played here...Mr Padukone is a champion and an honest man..her parents must have been traumatized by the threats their daughter was facing.

What kind of answer is this? So if someone threatens you and take it quietly that is attributed to upbringing? Lord Krishna in the Gita had said that one who tolerates injustice/crime is a bigger sinner than the one who does the injustice/crime. Something wrong with that upbringing in the Padukones.

I agree it was put across very inelegantly, but I think what she is saying here is fighting your own battles instead if cowering with fear at the first threat. I read somewhere else where she said , she prefers fighting her own battles and doesn't depend on a man or anybody else to do so. That I think is an empowering message. Bringing upbringing into the conversation was I guess an attempt to say that that's what her parents taught her. But yes it didn't come across as was intended
