Sanjay Leela Bhansali's most controversial venture Padmaavat sees a pan-India release on January 25. The magnum opus has been embroiled in controversy since its inception. And while various Hindu and Rajpur fringe outfits have raised objections, the Supreme Court of India gave a nod to the makers and asked the government to not ban the film in any state. However, due to fringe threat multiplex owners have refused to screen the film in various cities, with Patna being the latest one. Karni Sena has refused to back down and continues to stage protests in various parts of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. Meanwhile, SC is expected to hear a contempt plea against Karni Sena on Monday and Delhi HC has refused to hear a plea against the film. Despite threats, several state governments are trying their best to offer a smooth release to the film and the initial reviews are out with Ranveer Singh's act as Alauddin Khilji being the most impressive. The cast of the film - Ranveer, Deepika, and Shahid have thanked Bhansali for giving them this opportunity and the audience for trusting the vision and watching the film. Both Farhan Akhtar and Javed Akhtar have raised their voice against the attacking of a school bus.
