Khair, beauty is really subjective, and some of the comments were indeed a good read which refrained from mudslinging and mocking people for their opinion.

@TM: HW is a very diverse industry, maybe that's why you feel so. Most good-looking people in BW can't act, that could be another reason.

BOld - Yes calling them fat, ugly (which is fine by me, everyone is entitled to their opinion) while simultaneously accusing other member s of racism

Racism accusation is the best weapon to shut down and shame the opposition or the topics you don't like

While there are few posts here blatantly that - made mostly by one person, then some male members got upset and started calling all Indian women ugly

But the funny thing is some people condemning that are also doing the same thing

This thread is a true rabbit hole.

Attraction is a subjective and personal perception. It varies from individual to individual.

Not being attracted to someone, does not mean they are ugly. It would truly be a global crisis if we were turned on by every human around us.

Bollywood heroine need to be good looking and hero criteria is a average looking actor with mix of good dialogue delivery , acting, action , dancing etc.

Reason is target audience who buy ticket and Bollywood movie which focus a major portion on song dance and love story . in single screen nearly 90% audience constitute male , only in multiplex somehow it may be say 60% , still major decision makers to watch a movie r mostly male.

when love story with singing dancing one of the major part of movie than that movie have to sale a fantasy of average looking hero romancing with a beautiful heroine and do all those fighting singing dialoguebazi . Viewer need to connect and relate with the hero, they dont need a good looking model to sale that fantasy to a male audience,

Till the time arrive where female audience become main target consumers/viewers you have to satisfy with average looking hero. 😆 In fact good looking model/actor hardly succeed as hero in bollywood.

IMHO there is a shortage of actors and actresses in BW. Releasing more than 1 movie a year is unheard of elsewhere for an actor or actress. Or, perhaps only a select handful gets roles?

Most Indian serial actors are good looking. In BW, mostly because of nepotism, we are not getting good looking actors.

I agree, I find men from Syria and Iran especially tend to be better looking than the Turks.😆

I agree with the TM that there is shortage of good-looking men in B-town but this topic has gone beyond radars of personal attacks etc.How calm is this thread not closed yet?

Personally, I feel the women of every race are better looking than men, and i rather find it flattering too hit by a woman than men nowadays.

Hope, i don't get attacked for this comment , here.

@ Smoldy - Great topic and food for thought indeed ! I guess the reason was well explained by Provoking and one more member where they highlighted about the consumer demand. Sad state of affairs but yes the core section of movie-goers is still male dominated which is why you'd find beautiful actresses but hardly good looking heroes.

Watch out Indian Tele Industry though for some real good looking men - Vivian Dsena, Karan Wahi, Harshad Chopra, Gaurav Chopra, Ronit Roy, Manoj Bohra (not now though) etc to name a few. 😳 Very handsome fellas there 😳 😆
