To be honest, for TV shows, star power of SK and SRK doesn't matter. They may help to bring in the initial audience for the shows (like AB for KBC), but its the entertainment factor that brings TRP for the shows. Big Boss is doing super well in TRPs this year, because of the loads and loads of drama. The previous seasons didn't do so well- does that mean that SK's star power dropped the previous years? No, it's just because the previous season did not offer so much drama as this year. This season has been one of the most vicious and dramatic seasons, I believe. As for Ted Talks, I didn't expect it to do super well in terms of TRP. Though the talks are enlightening, it doesn't offer the drama the Indian TV audience are looking for. Reality shows need a lot of drama to perform well and be accepted by the TRP audience. In fact, this was one of the criticisms for KBC and talent shows on TV frequently get: being dramatic (focusing on sob stories, seemingly scripted quarrels between participants and judges etc.)
In conclusion, SK and SRK fans should take a chill pill. How well their show does on TV is not a reflection of their star power but rather the drama component in their shows.

P.S. Before I'm accused of being the other actor's fan, I am neither SK or SRK's fan. This is based on my understanding how Indian TV works.

Oh yeah? then how come KBC which according to you is 'dramatic' didn't worked with SRK? But always worked with AB?

Even the previous seasons of KBC did not had such high TRP as this season but it kept coming back every year with AB as the host. Same with Bigg Boss. It comes back every year with Salman as the host. Also Aamir's show kept coming back with him as the host every year. Means they were all successful. So why only SRK's shows gets shut down or he's replaced?

Truth is SRK's shows had plenty of dramatic elements , such as in Zor Ka Jhatka , KBC, India Poochega . But no one cares to watch SRK . His fans can only scream online but neither goes to watch his movies in theater nor watches his show on TV.

So your argument is invalid . Oops sorry your excuse for SRK's failures is invalid .

The show is truly inspirational with powerful short talks. It is enlightening and hopeful, but it doesn't cater to the standard set of trp viewers. As revealed by SRK himself, the show isn't plugged in to get a certain no of ratings and viewership.

The show is not a vehicle to showcase and applaud b/w people. (Infact they are meagre). Many true achievers from socialites, entrepreneurs, engineers to musicians, novelists etc share stories of their journey. Also SRK himself is not the superstar here; he simply lets the speakers shine with their motivational speeches and share their ideas.

TED Talks has been made with a good intention, but created with a lesser hype. The content is great with a host of speakers discussing ideas that leave people inspired and positive. The entertainment quotient of the show is minimal and no attempt has been made to make it a typical reality show in order to gain trps (good IMO). Especially, the regular masala reality TV audiences might be disappointed with the humdrum treatment of the show. SRK too doesn't have a separate chat session with the speakers, he only introduces them to the audiences. So the regular viewers might miss his trademark jokes and interactions. So on the basis of all these one can clearly say this show is not aimed at garnering a decided no of tv ratings.

& for the record ALL OF SRK's shows were TRP flop.

Okay Ted Talks is so 'progressive' , then why KBC did not work with SRK but worked great with AB?

Also why NONE OF HIS shows ever worked? Not a single? Admit the fact that no one cares to watch SRK.

Can you provide some essay on that as well ?

Oh well, this was such a predictable read, whenever it comes to justification of bad trp/collection for srk, always blame the audience!😵 Indian audience apparently are not intellectual enough for not liking what the King does🤪

SRK has always followed others, from KBC(AB) to TedX(Amir). As one user mentioned Akshay and srk lack any kind of star power. And if anyone thinks he has international fans, I would welcome him to try out Hollywood and flop there😳😆

I genuinely appreciate your sympathetic view about this man, but to be honest he should be the last person who deserves any kind of sympathy or empathy.

* This whole OUTSIDER TAMASHA is made by kangana nautanki, who got dozens of SUGAR DADDIES to LAUNCH and helped her...the struggle is almost equal ...also salman was not star kid...his dad got retired as a writer when he debuted...most importantly saleem khan was the MOST DISCOUAGING father, he NEVER helped salman UNTIL he established himself in the indusrty with his own efforts and luck..saleem khan even used to mock him even after the release of maine pyar kiya.

* Issue is not about been shrewd, but about been DUSROON KA HAQQ MAARNA with all of his cunning tactics, in his own words about himself in a famous monthly magazine "I am the BIGGEST BITCH then ALL THE PEOPLE COMBINED in the film industry".

* He backed his words with all of his deeds throughout his career.

* Aamir & Salman lost many projects because of him been stuck like a PARASITE with kjo & yrf, eating pakki pakaai kheer in form of most well planned heavy budgeted movies which were bound to be hits regardless of who the male lead would have been.

* Salman did lots of EHSAANS on him, gave him shelter, food, helped him alot in establishing in the industry, he used to call salman SIR for a long period of time, but later he bite salman back in return...that too twice..it was salman who got a big heart who amend ways with him...he gave many LEWD statements about salman throughout that rough period between the two.

* Due to this man, AAMIR followed by SUNNY and few others COMPLETELY BYCOTTED the awards mainly bcoz he buy those awards for ddlj (rangeela was most deserving) and also for his puke worthy over acting in dtph and especially in KKHH.

* He is the one responsible for giving a BAD name to the awards with all of his under handed cunning tactics.

* I even read he was the one who made the jury giving salman SUPPORTING ACTOR award, but everyone knows salman was NOT SUPPORTING ACTOR in KKHH but was in an EXTENDED CAMEO, it was in the credits of the film itself too thanking salman khan. He did this to undermine salman's worth in front of him as a supporting actor.

Everyone who has seen that award for 1998, will remember how SURPRISED salman was when his name been announced as SUPPORTING ACTOR for KKHH and was not going to accept it still sitting in his seat, and the shrewd cunning srk openly INSULTED him calling on mike "ULLO KAY PATTHAY AA JAA" and salman looked really surprise, not in a good way.

*Yes salman is no great actor, but atleast he NEVER BUY awards unlike this hamming actor who is no good performer than salman...atleast salman dont do hamming...atleast he never bought a string of undeserving awards for his acting.
Moreover a MAJORITY stated that salman performed BETTER then srk in Karan Arjun, and that says it all.

* Aamir is a very practical person, and got no HEART OF GOLD unlike salman, thats why his hatred (understandable) for this person is in front of all, and there could be pertinent reason(S) for it, as aamir never shown such emotions for ANYONE ELSE at all.

* His arrogance and calling himself king and all is just way too low of an attitude shouts loud about his insecurity, jealous nature and inability to see anyone ahead of him.

There r so much more to this man which I can write here, but abhi kay liye itna hee kaafi hai.

Not a SRK fan, don't even like him. But I watch TED talks and it is a good show. I am not against his hosting skills and he is not bad either. Honestly, the show's speakers are more of a highlight of show and there have been many good speakers. am not going into Khan war here 'coz a show like TED talk on an Indian channel where saas-bahu type sagas rule more is a good thing. Its more about encouraging such shows than fighting over TRPs and how a star is responsible for its low TRPs. Besides, I know whom I ll fight for, if I have to choose a Khan at all.
