chemistry in the 2007 David Dhawan
comedy Partner was loved by all. Hence, it
came as a good news when recent reports
suggested that Salman's brother Sohail Khan
was planning to make a sequel.
Sohail has apparently registered two titles
for the sequel and they are, Carry On Partner
and Partner 2.
A source had revealed to a leading tabloid,
"The original film was well accepted. It
revived Govinda's career. Previous plans for
creating the sequel were dropped after the
makers felt the story lacked heft. Then, the
actors were occupied with other
assignments. There were also reports of a
fall-out between Salman and Govinda. But
that is a thing of the past now."
In an interview with another leading tabloid,
when Govinda was asked about starring in
Partner's sequel, the actor stated, "When I
quit politics 10 years ago, I found Partner
and neither the makers nor my fans have
forgotten the film. I guess it's because of the
humour and the honesty which shines
through. There is a lot of speculation but I
haven't been finalised for the sequel, I have
to make that clear kyunki main jhoot nahi
bolta."
"I never understood why we had to wait a
decade for a Partner sequel, I guess I love
the franchise a little too much," Govinda
quipped.
