Equations change when there is no expectation of fidelity.
While some women maintain lifelong wrath towards cheating exes, many women find divorce/break up a sort of catharsis/closure that makes it easier to be friends with a cheating ex. Their problem is the 'act of cheating' and not the 'whole person'.

Society was very different once upon a time. Wives were dependent on their husbands. They were often obliged to make the relationship work. Breaking up a marriage even in the case of abusive/cheating spouses was frowned upon. Women were expected to be the glue that holds a family together. That is why I feel historically many women tolerated cheating spouses.
In the modern era, women do not have such heavy expectations. Divorce is still frowned upon. But abuse and cheating are acceptable grounds for divorce. So it is baffling why modern women do not divorce.
At the same time, I think non-monogamous marriages have become a lot more common. I am confident Twinkle and Gauri are some of them. Fidelity is not an expectation of the marriage. The expectation is companionship, support, common life goals.
Actually, even though Gauri and SRK are non-monogamous, I don't think there is any other couple that is so committed to each other. They are best friends, each other's anchor in life, and you can see the complete comfort they have with each other. PC was a fool to think SRK would leave that level of comfort for an affair that was probably just for sex and fun while being away from the spouse.
