To people calling a folk song or dance lack.lustre i guess its due to people like u that folk forms of indian culture are slowly disappearing.

Our rich culture being replaced by meaning less aerobics in d garb of dance.a

Already very few are learning classical.music and dance in India and now folk art forms will slowly disappear due to people running behind western stuff.

Having said that I absolutely loved deepika here and been playing the song in loop since yesterday.

Its a folk song with a lil bollywood touch..and shreya and the folk singers did a great job as well

I keep imagining Neena Gupta from that song... Banno teri akhiyan. That strength and sharpness in the body language seems a little missing in the song to me. Deepika looks amazing though.

I've seen the song several times now. It looks like an incredibly difficult dance to perform, and Deepika's done her due diligence getting the movements down. Her facial expressions are on point. The last part with the diyas looks incredibly intense to pull off, I can't imagine how many retakes they had to do with that alone to get it right. Really excellent performance by her.

However, the song looks repetitive with the same heavy clothing and twirls in every movie over and over again. I can actually see that they've reused some of their old sets and the color palette from BM is the same. The song itself isn't as impactful as Nagada Sang Dhol or Deewani Mastani, which I feel drags the effect down.

Genuine question-how does she have curves? AFAIK all her off screen appearances during this time were described as she's lost too much weight/she's super skinny/she needs to put on weight! Is this also VFX?

I feel like this song majorly grew on me after a few hears. Got catchy! I specially like the beginning and enjoy seeing Deepika there too. Love Shreya's voice when she sings "Ho.. mhaari saari kaaya bole...Dhola ji ki chhaaya hole..." It's gonna look nice on the big screen.
