Probably Khilji VS Mongolian Armies

Mind-blowing, epic, beautiful, intense, riveting, we are just so short of describing the wonder, which is the Padmavati trailer. Sanjay Leela Bhansali seems to have given his 500 per cent to the saga of the Rajput Queen who preferred death to surrendering herself to the lust of Alauddin Khilji. And boy, how royal, stunning and graceful is Deepika Padukone looking as the Queen Padmavati. She is every inch a Goddess and we can understand why Khilji was so captivated by her beauty. The frame where she steps out in red in all her glory is so bewitching. We also loved her in the light pastel lehenga devoid of heavy jewellery, her wispy hair caressing her crown with just a maang tika for that royal effect. (Also Read: Inside Scoop! Ranveer Singh's solo song for Padmavati is going to be KILLER)
Deepika Padukone's unibrow was a topic of discussion but it is her majestic stance that won us over and how. She is love in every scene. Just check out that scene where she looks adoring at Maharawal Ratan Singh played by Shahid Kapoor. The colour red suits her so well. In the next scene, she looks shyly at Ratan Singh and our hearts skip a beat. Any other actress would have looked like a Christmas tree in that much jewellery, red and gold but not Deepika. The heavy Nath, the stunning necklace, hand-harness (haath phool) and traditional red and white bangles all sit so beautifully on the actress. Even if Padmavati was just the imagination of the poet Muhammad Jiyasi, Dippy has brought her to life and how. Royalty personified!

So much adaaah!
The Rani in red

Anyone would be lost in those eyes

Those kohl-lined eyes tell a tale

A stunner in pink

We cannot see you in pain

Nothing like the fury of a woman

Those fierce eyes can make any foe take a retreat

Sealing her place into immortality
Padmavati is based on the Queen of Chittor who was the object of desire for Alauddin Khilji. She along with women of her kingdom committed Jauahar instead of surrendering to the lustful intentions of Alauddin Khilji and his marauding Army. The tale has a place of pride in Rajputana culture and India's glorious heritage. It is also a sensitive subject for the community but going by the trailer, we feel no one should have any complaints. Deepika Padukone has sealed her place in Bollywood's history books with this one, don't you feel so? Stay tuned for more updates...
