I dont think anybody is mocking depression or trivializing the matter when they say they don't believe DP. In fact it is Deepika who is trivializing the issue by saying she is depressed. So one might think "oh depression is something you have on the side...it really won't affect your life much...you continue to be rich, beautiful, famous, stay in work, grow in career, have relationships, go on vacations etc."
how is that depression affecting my life? In no way.

Robin Williams was famous all over the world. He was loved by millions. He had a lot of money. He had a family and three children. He had a talent which everybody wants to have: to make people laugh. He was rich and he sure could afford everything he liked. And he did had a good standing in his industry. He seems to had it all...and still he suffered depression and took his life.

Chester Bennigton from Linkin Park had it all too. Money, fame, talent, family and so on. And still he took his life. He was able to help millions with his music but he wasn't able to help himself...

There are so many people who are afraid to say that the have depression. People are even afraid to tell that they are going through a bad phase because they are afraid that people will think it makes other think they are weak..

Going public with having depression will have consequences for you...
There will be people who won't give you a job because they think you are not up for it...
Everybody will judge you and it can have an affect on your dating life too. There are people who won't be willing to marry you because you have/had depression.

There are still many stigma and prejudices against depression. It is still a long long way to go...
By talking public about depression Deepika is helping people.
Will she be able to change the world? No! Is she helping people? Yes!!!

I believe it is a sincere effort from her.
But if she is doing it to promote herself even than it doesnt matter. When she along the way helps 1,2,5 people to seek help than it was worth it.

Some of you are saying she can't have depression because is having it all in life. Or she is lying for selfish reasons.

There could be people who have it all and is reading your comments...and they will think: how will people believe me?

It is ok to dislike Deepika. And it is ok to question some things. In your dislike in Deepika some are really insensitive in their words and you are putting depression down by saying that famous and rich people can't have depression.

I can't believe that I have to write a long essay about this.
It only proofs that we still need a long, long way to go in deleting the prejudices and judgements about depressions. Saying someone rich and famous can't have depression is a prejudice!

I am sorry for the long text but I really needed to write this down.

Hello wall :)
Robin Williams battled with alcohol addiction. He had divorces. He was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease which he kept a secret. Obviously he had many things going on in his life which led to his suicide. Shocking factor was because of him being a comedian and much loved actor driven to take his own life.

Eh? People are talking about not shaming depression but agree and gives likes to that comment calling Kangana loony loony tunes. Such irony. If you really care about mental sickness, don't just feel for Deepika but others too instead of branding them as a loony.
