😆Sure, sure, we live inan equal world where women don't suffer more. Suuure.

This is not an oppression olympics both women and men can suffer.

There are women who like their male counterparts have priviledged lives and higher on the social and economical ladder than the rest of the population.

You honestly think they are suffering more than a MAN on the bottom of the social and economical ladder because they are a MAN.

Toxic male privilege etc.
Remember Jiah Khan controversy? The woman died. Nothing severe happened to Suraj! BW is quintessentially male dominated. And to pretend otherwise is sort of blasphemous.

Exactly. There are a number of instances where the men were on the wrong side yet got away with minimum consequences. I am surprised anyone would even think otherwise.

It's a good thing that in THIS case she is a woman. Because acc. to Indian law, if a man has sex with married woman without the consent of her husband, he is a criminal, which is not applicable for the reverse case. So any guy who will be involved with Kangu after her marriage would be afraid of speaking of it like this in media.

One of the fewest messed up laws of India which is partial towards women - Kangu is taking advantage of that too 😆 . Level A opportunist.

@ Blue : Seriously ?.. 😳 .. I am neither a lawyer nor a feminist but it reeks of misogyny ..

First of all , labelling anyone a 'criminal' when it is just about infidelity/adultery is in itself absurd but the law (if true) is designed in such a way that it safeguards wife's loyalty to husband but at the same time the husband is free to carry on with his philandering ways .. now THAT is just blatant gender inequality .. i wonder if anyone bothers to the review the laws .. 🤔

Such blatant gender inequality in the society places unreasonable pressures/expectations on both the genders - as pointed out so aptly in the OP ..

It CRIES gender equality and misogyny. 🥱 The reason which I can think of behind this absurd logic is - a woman must be a property of the man i.e. Pati - owner, crorepati/lakhpati means owner of crores/lakhs, similarly, wife in a whole is owned by somebody. Hence if another man is trying to snatch his property, it's considered a crime. Otherwise the law has nothing to do with the woman in question, in fact she aint committing any crime too 😛. I will be interested to know if somebody can throw some lights on any other possible logic behind this.

But the reverse is not possible. 😃 Because a woman apparently doesn't OWN the man/husband. Hence if he decides to have sex with another woman, it's fine because he can decide for himself.

😆 Of course there are protests going on by feminist brigade to change this law and either make it equal or eliminate both. But knowing the sanskaari government I doubt if that'd happen anytime soon 😆.

Oh yes that must be it .. medieval logic - an update is long overdue .. 🥱

I just felt it reeked of misogyny but you managed to pin-point it in such an excruciating graphic detail .. 😆
